Scar Tissue!
5 yrs of research Starting for the second time...Referral Sept 28/17. Orientation Guelph Sept 28/17. Nurse Oct 10/17. Dietician & Social worker Nov. 21/17
I was told the same thing. I've had my appendix out with a 3 inch scar and my gallbladder removed (laparoscopically though) and 2 c sections.
He was uncertain how much scar tissue id have from all of that.
Thankfully it worked out and I had rny. Although I did end up with 8 rny incisions.
RNY Jan 16/17 Surgery @ St. Mikes with Dr. Rotstein. Pre-Surgery -20lbs & Optifast -15lbs. Year 1 Loss after RNY: 131lbs

I asked the surgeon when I spoke to him yesterday if the fact I'd have my gallbladder out (laparoscopically), a csection and my appendix out if this would cause any issue and he said no. The appendix and csection are "no where near" and the gallbladder is common for people that have WLS. I had read it could be an issue as well. Not sure why my Dr doesn't think it is.
Referral to Sudbury: April 28th 2017, Orientation: July 19th 2017, 1:1's: Dec 14th 2017, Follow up with NP: Jan 9th OTN: Jan 18th, Pre-Op: Feb 12th, Surgery: Feb 27th - 2 weeks of Opti. Hospital: St. Joseph's TO with Dr Sullivan.

I had open gall bladder surgery from 25 years ago and I suffered with extremely bad heartburn (would wake in the morning in my own vomit) for almost 20 years. I woke after almost a five hour surgery with RNY. I had A LOT of scar tissue. In fact, they discovered my stomach had adhered itself to my liver with scar tissue. I woke from surgery with no heartburn and it lasted for almost two years before returning.

I just saw this.
I am sure you are going to be fine. I had a RNY after he detached the scar tissue right over my stomach and liver.
I had scars from the same reason and a ovary removal. There is a plus side to this! You do not need to worry about gal ladder issues after.
I can tell you now at 6 weeks out I am going great. I stuggle with drinking alittle but it is getting better ever week. I am very happy you have your date.
