I'm Home!

Hi All,

I got home yesterday around noon. My surgery went very well no issues.

Dr. Hong discovered a hiatal hernia while do my surgery so they did the repair right then and there so my surgery did take longer. Also discovered that I have a heart murmur. Who knew? We increased my tinzaparin injectections because of a previous DVT but no issues.

I'm drinking, getting in all my vitamins and protein. Two shakes yesterday and I'm half down one today.

My back is killing me from those horrible hospital beds. OMG they are awful.

My sister is here with me and has been awesome. Actually a bit of a rebounding moment last night when I got teary. It was very nice.

So I'm on the road to recovery, feeling OK, walking around and doing what I'm supposed to be doing.

I have to give a shout out to the nursing Staff at St. Joseph's Hospital in Hamilton. My nurses were unbelievable. They work long hours and do amazing work. They were lovely and helped me every step of the way. They have my undying appreciation and respect. It's a hard job and I don't think they get the respect they deserve.

Ok, back to my shake and sipping. :)

So happy to hear that all went well with your surgery, and that they threw in a hernia repair! Haha. Also good for you to know about the heart murmer, hopefully it is not serious.

Hope you have a speedy recovery and your back feels better soon!
