Topic: RE: No support after surgery

I really think that they give some much matter for the pre-op appointments because they have to inform you how your life is going to be and they also need to select who can have teh surgery done.

Looks like once you had you surgery their had their job done and nothing else matters...

Topic: RE: No support after surgery

I knew if it was so hard to get ahold of the nurse, the surgeon would be almost impossible. I confess that I didn't even try calling him. But I will call him tuesday because I'm still in pain and lots of disconfort and I think he needs to know that.

I really don't believe that concerns my family doctor, i don't even know if she is educated about this kind of surgery, but I'm so helpless that I'm gonna call her too...

    Topic: RE: Nuts and seeds

Topic: RE: No support after surgery

They never gave me a number, but I call the clinic and they left a message for the nurse... maybe when I'm tottaly recovered from the surgery she'll call me.... :/

Topic: RE: No support after surgery

I'm sorry to know about your bad experience...

I fell that that's a lack of commitment with patients... even worse, they don't respect us...

Topic: RE: No support after surgery

    Thank you very much!

I'm feeling a little better, waiting for the long weekend to end, so I can see my family doctor. But I'll keep sending emails and calling because that's my right, right?

    :)

Topic: RE: No support after surgery

Well, my family doctor wasn't at the office this week and I really don't trust walk-in clinics.

I went to ER because the pain was unbearable, at the time I knew I was constipated but I wasn't sure if that was the reason for my pain. I really thought I had a blockage...

I know there are lots of suggestions on here and I really appreciate all members who try to help, but speaking of my health, specially when I'm in so much pain, I'd rather look for a medical advice...

I love the little packages of Blue Diamond almonds.  Yes they go through my internal plumbing and come out the other end just fine. :-)

    Topic: RE: Decreasing Clothing Sizes

I totally did that!  One thing to keep in mind is to try and estimate what season it might be when you are such-and-such a size.  Right now I'm a comfortable size 16 and a 14 in some jeans.  Right now, I am fitting into some of the stuff I bought on the clearance rack at Pennington's during their Boxing Week sale!  LOL.  I was about a size 20 or 22 at the time, but I bought some stuff in size 18, 16 and 14, but made sure the size 14 stuff was lighter since I figured I wouldn't be a size 14 until spring or summer.  Sure enough, right on schedule!  :)

Thanks Pat, sounds like we did the same thing today - I noticed you said you were gardening too.  I ran a couple of tomato and pepper seedlings over to a friend's place tonight after supper.  I was rewarded with some duck curry - yum!  She's an amazing cook.

There is definitely hope.  And that's exactly how I felt this time last year.  I did attempt to plant a couple of things, and my husband and I sheet mulched the whole back yard last year because the weeds were out of control due to him ignoring them for a few years (both before and after I moved in with him).  But for the most part last year, I was exhausted just thinking about gardening or yard work and couldn't do it for longer than maybe half an hour at a time without feeling wiped out.

So, this time next year, you will be gardening away!  I'm not sure when your surgery is scheduled, but if it's soon, then you might even be putting in some bulbs in the fall for next year. :)

I'm not sure what surgery you had? I had VSG and was able to tolerate nuts/seeds....slowly, at about the point you're at. At first, they were SOOO filling, so I only had about 3 in total..at most I now have about 1/8 cup of nuts and I'm just over 4 months out.
