Good morning!
Wow! What a glorious Fall morning!!! I love it! Hope everyone is doing well. Thought I would stop by and say hi since the baby is happily playing and daddy is running on the treadmill.
Everything has been a whirlwind since I went back to work in Sept. But I love my new school and my Lily has settled in quite nicely at daycare. We just had a run of sickness this month due to her being in daycare but I am hoping once she builds up her immunity it will all subside.
Today has me cleaning up after our lil "hurricane" --everywhere miss Lily goes destruction follows..lol Then this afternoon I hope to take her to the playground for a bit. Laundry and regular errands too...

As far as success in maintenance I know the number one thing that I need to do to be successful is to keep a food log and track my intake so I am not mindlessly grazing and of course excersise is my second thing I know I need to do to stay healthy. Hope that answered your question!! :-)

I had my surgery four years ago today. It seems like a lifetime ago because so much has changed since then. I went from being well over 300 lbs down and a size 26 to size 4 (total loss 176lbs).
I had a baby in September. My miracle Lily-Anne. That was my major motivation for having RNY--I was told I was too heavy to conceive let alone carry a baby to term. I was too unhealthy. This surgery and this board saved my life. I have the pregnancy weight to lose but I am positive I can do it. I am in a much healthier place than I was four years ago. I am willing to try new things and push myself to reach my goals. I look forward to my time at the gym (and believe me four years ago when I couldn't even walk on the treadmill for ten minutes without feeling like death--liking the gym is a serious accomplishment!! LOL)
There have been many ups and a few downs on this journey. I don't always stick to the straight and narrow and I eat far too many carbs for my own good but I am still committed to being healthy and living life and making the most of this second chance I have been given.
I lurk more here on the board than post and I am sorry for that. I can see and tell the board is having some turmoil and it makes me sad. I used to love to come here and post and check in and feel like a productive member of OH. But as time went on and life got more hectic I stopped posting as much and lost out on friendships. There were so many women here who inspired me everyday and I wish I had not been so shy four years ago and I wish I had pursued the friendships for real because now it seems as if everyone is pulling away from the board and each other and it does make me sad. This board did in fact save my life and helped me through some of the darkest days of my life. I will never forget that.
I am here for anyone who may need support or a shoulder to cry on. I may need support too. It does not get easier the further out you are from surgery--it gets harder.I just have to keep reminding myself why I did this in the first place. I look at my beautiful baby and thank God for her and for the courage and strength to get control and get healthy. So yes today is my four year old birthday--HAPPY SURGERVERSARY TO ME!! LOL But in all seriousness I wish everyone here nothing but the best--you are all courageous and inspiring--may your journey bring you much joy!

I have been working out religiously again since the baby is now 6mos old and it is a little easier to get my workouts in :-) Today I did 35 mins on the treadmill, 100 squats, 25 pushups, 100 step ups (or if your familiar with Crossfit they are Box jumps) and 25 Burpees (also a Crossfit exersise)..fun fun fun...looking forward to getting back in shape and up to my old workout routines!

Hi everyone--sorry I haven't been posting..mostly lurking around but since I am trying to get back down to pre-baby weight and trying to stay on track I thought it would be a good idea to start going back to support meetings. I love the meetings at Barix but right now that is a little out of the way for me and I remebered that there was some people who posted about meetings in Phoenixville which is near me. I think the Archdiocese is going to be closing ALOT of parishes and schools within the city. But I don't think any official announcements will come until the new year..So we shall see...

Morning!
Well Miss Lily-Anne has been kicking my butt...she is pretty much a cat napper during the day who likes to party like a rock star all night long...in other words she is real big on the whole sleep for hours thing yet...which has put me into complete and utter exhaustion mode. I have had two major meltdowns in the past week due to lack of sleep...so hubby and I have new game plan...since he works with heavy machinery --he needs a good nihhts sleep but he will be getting up at 4 am and taking over with Miss Lily-Anne until he leaves for work at 8 am which will give me four hours of uninterrupted sleep. Then he will take her again from dinner time till bedtime so I can get in another block of sleep. Worked very well this am!!! Sleep oh how I have missed you!! LOL
Other than that nothing exciting here...may take my sweet pea for a walk this afternoon and that is it!

We survived our first day home alone without Daddy! But I def need to nap when she does...
Not much on my agenda...just taking care of my sweet pea...dr appt tonight to check my blood pressure as I have gestastional high blood pressure and we need to see if it is coming down...

Kathy-- (((BIG HUGS))) and prayers being sent your way. I hope all works out with Florida and that your daughter is alright that sounds like a scary situation! Hopefully you can get her to open up and let you know how she really is...thinking of you!
As for me...more bedrest. We went to the Dr yesterday and while my blood pressure was down they want to wait for the results ofthe 24 hour urine test and then decide if we are going to induce labor or just wait for it to happen naturally. At this point...I am really leaning towards being induced. I am tired and stressed.
Hubby just quit his job and took a new one that he is very happy about...that is great. The place he has worked for the last four years brought in new management and they are just awful sooo I am really happy for him...problem is that when we decided I was going to take my one year sabbatical my insurance only lasts until the end of my paid leave...then I was supposed to go on his with the baby...this new job--no benefits for the first year as it is a contracted job. So now I am basically freaking out and trying not to show it too much. I don't know what to do just yet...I am pretty sure the baby can be covered under CHIP but for me I haven't a clue...and I have to have that procedure on my cervix after the baby is born...sigh. Gotta think of something...very very stressed....
Oh well enough about me....today is bedrest bedrest bedrest...perhaps the Lil Sweet Pea will decide to make their appearance early?? I hope so!!

Well yesterday didn't go as I planned. Went in for my weekly check with my ob/gyn--wound up in the hospital for six hours hooked up to monitors, getting lab tests and ultrasounds. My blood pressure was high--too high. I was completely freaked out. I felt fine before and so was just completely unprepared for that. For the most part everything has been relatively wonderful in the pregnancy so this was a surprise.
So I am now on bedrest. Sunday I have to do a 24 hr urine test to check for proteins etc...Monday I go back into the dr...if my blood pressure is still up they will probally admit me and induce labor...if the blood pressure is ok...then more bed rest and we wait for labor,,,,
So nothing going on for me except bedrest...enjoy the weekend!!

Well at least it isn't raining...at least not here, not yet...still dreary and muggy and like Kathy posted it is def starting to affect my mood as well. Praying for sunshine!!
Today has me headed over to my ob/gyn for my weekly appt if I can get there...the office is on the other side of town and so far most of the roads that I could take to get there are closed due to flooding. The Manatawny Creek has turned King Street and the park into a lake and the Schyulkill crested and flooded all of Industrial Highway and that area...so I have to figure out a way up and around all that...siggh
