When will this Diarrhea end?

I'm 10 days post-op and it took me five to even have a BM but not the diarrhea won't stop.  We went out today for the first time out of the house and I had to go 4 times.  Did anyone else have this problem?  My stomach just keeps on rolling and rolling and making all kinds of sounds too!  When does it end?
I didnt have that problem, lasted a day, but sometimes adding fiber can firm it up too. might try some benifiber or something along those lines. fiber absorbs the liquid so can firm it up. Make sure you drink fluids, dont get dehydrated.
In order to change we must be sick and tired of being sick and tired.                        ~Author Unknown

What I've read is fluids in fluids out... so if you aren't eating solid foods yet, you won't get solid stuff out the other end yet either... My stomach is rolling and gurgling and bubbly too, but I don't know when it ends, you are a day or two ahead of me!! :D

Did you have a distal procedure?  I guess it depends on the amount of malabsorption.  I had a DS and I had constant diarrhea.  That is why I had surgery to lengthen my common channel and make my stomach small.  The first week I still had diarrhea.  It was a little better but that may be because I didn't eat anything.  After the first week I became normal and now I only go every other day or so.  I'm a little worried about constipation, which is a big change.  Hopefully yours will stop soon, too.

All my posts are just other people's opinions that I've stolen from other boards.

I had the exact same problem happen.  It lasted for about 7 days and was pretty horrible.  I called my surgeon's office and was told that it was probably my body just adjusting to the protein shakes.  I found it to be more the form I was taking my calcium in.  I was taking the Twinlab Calcium Citrate chewable tablets.  In trying to figure out what could be the issue I stopped taking these and switched over to the Unjury powdered Calcium Citrate, and the issues went away immediately.  That could be the issue or just the protein.  I have since become pretty regular and very rarely have any explosiveness.  Is that even a word?  Hope you feel better soon.
U should contact your physician... have you been tested for C Diff? Its easy to pick up in hospitals... Call the doc..

I had it for almost 4 weeks, then it just "poof" stopped. I guess it must be a body adjustment thing. My surgeon's office said I could use liquid Immodium. Check with your doc, they may have a recommendation for you. Hope all is well soon!
