First I went from liquids to pureed foods and my stomach was not sure that it really like it, but still tried.  I was not throwing up but very sick to my stomach.  Then about two days ago I started having this pain between my ribs and everytime I breathe pain.  My stomach feels so full and agitated.  I talked to my surgeon and he put me back on my pain meds and said it might be my gall bladder or a stricture.  Can anyone give me any insight on these?? How does this get fixed?? I really appreciate it.  Should I worry??

Typically the gall bladder gets fixed by having it surgically removed.  A stricture gets fixed by going down your throat (you get sedated for the procedure) and dilating the stricture with a balloon.  If your doc things you might have gall bladder problems or a stricture, why didn't he order any diagnosiic tests?  Gall bladder problems are diagnosed with an ultrasound.  Stricture are diagnosed by endoscopy, and if they find one, they fix it while they're in there.

I am going to a gastronologist??

Sometimes a wise physician's clinical acumen tells him to sit on an issue rather that put it through the wringer.
The testing can be expensive and time consuming for everyone involved.
Often, if a competent, experienced physician says let's sit on this thru the weekend, then it's for good reason.
On the other hand, if he said "take these for pain, but call me on Tuesday if you are still in pain." and you are still in pain on Tuesday then call him.

Look folks, there is ALWAYS a test that can be ordered.... but that doesn't mean that it needs to be ordered.

Trust your Doc, or get a new Doc.

They called me back and told me he wants me to go to a gastronologist?? I think that is to see if I do have the stricture or not.  I am trying to work and not think about it so much but it is really painful while eating.  I guess I just need to drink instead of eat food until it gets resolved.  I think for me everything is so new that it freaks me out when things happen and I am not prepared.  Has anyone out there had a stricture or gall bladder issues?? My gall bladder is still in and was doing just fine.  Who knows??
