3. Salad with arugula, pine nuts, goat cheese, roasted red peppers and marinated portabello mushrooms with FF honey dijon dressing

What''s on YOUR plate today?

Oh.. dinner tonight. I am very nervous. Today is my late Nana's Birthday, so we always go celebrate at her favorite restaurant.. Giorgio's. Italian. I have yet to go to an Italian restaurant since my surgery and am not sure what my options will be. I was thinking Eggplant Parm but the eggplant is usually fried.. so I guess we will see how this goes. I am open to suggestions though.

I haven't had any kind of pasta since before surgery and I am committing to stay away from it for at least 6 months. I may just end up sipping water and chatting.. and eating something when I get home. Thank you!

You can always order a slice or two of pizza and just eat the toppings...its great!  Not that bad for you and will give you the taste of Italian without the pasta and pizza dough

I had a cranky pouch day yesterday and it's still kinda pissed off about something today. (do pouches get that TOM??  LOL)  So today was bland so far:

Quest Protein bar for breakfast
Quest Protein bar for lunch
(tried a protein shake after my work out but the pouch said no thanks)
Tonight-  Am going to woo the pouch with a glass of wine then try Panko oven baked chicken and green beans.

Just for the record, I do usually eat real people food!!!  :-)

B- banana protein w/ 1/2 banana and Tbs of PB2 (8oz skim milk)
L - vanilla protein w/ smuckers SF Strawberry topping and SF Strawberry syrup (skim milk)
D - steamed tilapia w/ slice of provolone cheese, about 3/4c steamed cabbage

S - I tried mixing up some greek yogurt, chocolate pudding mix and PB2. If it is nasty I have greek yogurt / ranch dip and carrots

I was feeling completely lazy so I just picked up a rotisserie chicken... I just pull all the meat off it, feed some to the kitties, then my husband and I just eat through whatever else we want.  Luckily, there's some left for tomorrow... but even if we ate it all, that's one delicious meal for cheaper than anything you could get for two adults at a fast food place.  I had my very first rotisserie chicken after my RNY two years ago... can't believe I missed out on the yummy goodness for all the years prior!

SO good...

Anyway.

B:  2 poached eggs and a cheese stick
L:  3/4 cup cream chix/rice soup (very thick)
D:  a goldnplump chicken patty FRIED in a bit of olive oil with a piece of 2% kraft cheese melted on it.  These pattys are so good especially for grilling.  Slice of 45 calorie sara lee toast and 1/3 cup green beans.

Ok...this is why I will probably stay totally fat! It doesn't seem like a lot until I see what you guys eat.  But it is wayyyy less than what I used to eat. On top of which I used to consume 2 sodas and a candy bar a day.

1 protein shake 30 grams protein 190 caloriesn(breakfast)
2. 1 protein bar 20 grams protein 200 calories ( 1/2 for am and pm snack)
3. Lunch: 3 oz steak, 3 oz mashed potatoes, 1/4 steamed broccoli/carrots Calories 300?
4. 1 California Cutie orange (40 calories)
5.  Dinner 3 ribs baked in BBQ sauce til it was fall off the bone tender and small green salad with 1/2 oz italian dressing.  Salad 50 Calories,
rib calories 200-300?

This is why we should not compare to others.

I realized as I went along that the reason I can eat more than other post-ops is because I intentially CHOOSE to eat things that sit well. Then I got all insecure about that. But there comes a point where you have to put this whole thing in the perspective of where YOU came from and where YOU are now.

Like you said, you used to eat way more plus candy and soda. So you've come a long way. And it looks to me like you are rocking out the protein!
