update on Cayenne

I talked to the vet tech this morning.  She made it through the night and her fever is down.  She ate a little during the night but then threw it up.  So now they are giving her meds for nausea.  I will be speaking to the vet later this afternoon and if she's not able to come home tonight, I will be going to the vet's to visit her.  If she's staying there again tonight, I"m going to take her favorite blankie for her to sleep on.

So far ok. By all means go visit her and rub her blankie all over you so your scent gets on it also.  If  she has more than one, take that to in case she wets on it during the night. I was awake last night at midnight and you are 3 hours ahead of me and I kept thinking it wont be long before she can call the vet.  Thanks for keeping us posted.  Jane  =^-^=
Go visit her anyway.  Stay 5 minutes tops.  Just pet her and let her hear your voice. It will make her feel better.  Some cats don't do well at the vet.  They can all use a little reassurance.  Will do mom a world of good too.

Thinkkng about you both, my sons have 4 legs, fur and tails, so I I sympathize!

Get better Cayenne!
My kitties and I wish Cayenne well!

I was so looking for this update - thanks for posting & wishing your kitty the best!

Thank you for updating us. Sheba and I were praying for her. I know she would love a visit from her mommy. If she can't come home, she probably would love to have her blankie to comfort her. Glad to hear that she did try to eat, hoping that the nausea med will work. Continue to keep us posted.

She is now home.  She has meds for nausea and antibiotics.  She's having a drink of water right now.  She actually wanted me to let her go outside, which I was not going to do.  She was very quiet in the car, so she must still be feeling ill, but now she seems to be heading for the kitchen for a little snack.

Not really.  He thinks it is some sort of infection but can't find an infection anywhere.  Her incisions look good, her lungs are clear, etc.

She has been drinking a lot since she's been home.  She hasn't wanted to eat, not stinky canned cat food and not yogurt (which she normally loves) but I will try more yogurt or a bite of cheese or a little raw milk later.  At least she's drinking a lot.

We have two water bowls for our cats, one in the kitchen and one in the dining area, so two can drink at the same time so they don't fight over the water.  I put a third bowl of water in the living room and Cayenne has been going from one dish to the next.  They are so funny how they do that.  Like the water in one bowl is going to taste different than the water in another.  But that's why I put a third bowl out, because I knew she'd want to drink from it too so she would be drinking more.  Later I'll offer her some water in a glass.  She likes to drink MY drink out of my glass.

 glad she's at least drinking.

my parents' dogs are like that with their food. they both eat from their own bowl, then switch, then move onto the cat's (obviously the cat's is different though).

Mine do that with food, too.  They are each afraid the other might have something better.
