What are you doing/eating today? Monday Edition.

Good Morning Everybody.  Hope that everybody is doing well today and had a nice weekend.
Today is my 3 year surgiversary.  Not sure how I feel about that since I am up about 20 pounds and need to get back on track.  I feel guilty and depressed about it.  I know what to do but still, do not do it.
I wished that I dumped, but I don't.  I wished that I got sick over eating crap but I don't.  My pouch has become a iron stomach and not much bother's it.
It's a new day so here goes.....
Food for the day -
B - Click Frappe (Love, Love, LOVE these).
S - Cherries
L - Salad w/grilled chicken
S - Bell pepper slices
D - Grilled chicken and onions and 1/4 cup cottage cheese
Lots and lots of water and coffee.  Going to the gym after work today.  I refuse to lose this weight loss battle so I am going to keep plugging along.
Have a great day everybody.
Beth
Do or Do Not, There is No Try...........
BETH!!!!! Good to see your post this a.m.

My girls are back so this begins the test of whether Nikki will keep up a good workout routine when the kids are home. I plan to do what I've been doing, which I call "closing the gym down." I go at about 8:30 and stay until the gym closes at 10 (you can do that when you have older kids and you only live four blocks from the gym, lol).

Eats as I know them:

1. Click + Skim + sf coconut syrup & sf caramel syrup in the blender bottle.
2. A slice of homemade lasagna, salad and a plum
3. Greek yogurt w/ PB2 and Fiber One
4. Probably something with grilled chicken for dinner
Beth, congrats on 3 years! That's awesome

So far, I  only have breakfast down, and it's not nearly as much protein as I need - Yoplait Light - 5g protein. I had a hard time yesterday, I felt yucky each time I ate. Trying to eat a little lighter today I guess, hoping not to feel so gross. Today's my 3rd week post-op.

Probably will have some tuna salad for lunch and some ricotta/ground pork/marinara sauce for dinner. I'm still in the pureed food stage. It's getting old.

Have a good day!
Jeanine

Why not trade the yoplait light for greek yogurt that you flavor yourself?  Higher protein count and no added sugar.

I've never tried greek yogurt before. Any suggestions on what brand to try? Do you just get plain yogurt and flavor it? I'm certainly up for trying new stuff! Thanks!!

I prefer Fage 0% plain, and I add in my own flavorings.  Most often frozen fruit, but if you can't have that yet then you can add in nsa jams or jellies, sf syrups, crystal light, almost anything!

I am a month out also!  My surgery was July 18th.  There are days when I feel so full that I can not eat enough protein.  I take a fist full of pills, that carry a warning to take with food, and by the time I take them all, I am full! lol there is no room for food.  But I did find some protien shakes at GNC that had 25 grams of protein per 14 ounces.  I am up to drinking 1 and a 1/2 a day, with snacks being either Jello or Greek Yogurt!

So happy to meet you.

Wishing us success,
Kimi
Congrats on 3 years!

Had a very busy weekend, so it feels like I didn't have one. 5:15 came awfully early this morning! LOL!

Food:
Coffee
B - 2 boiled eggs, one slice of fried bologna
S - Small granola bar
L - Not sure
D - Baked spaghetti

 Today's eats:

My usual cup was not clean so today's liquids are going to be counted in 32's.  So, 32 oz before work.
B - Fage, nsa fruit ****tail, splenda
s - HOT decaf green tea, 32 oz water minimum, plus at least another half cup (16)
L - 1/2 pita spread with laughing cow cheese, stuffed with spinach, cottage cheese, grilled chicken, green onion, bell pepper, cucumber.
s - 1 1/2 scoop mint cookie protein made with water
s - apple pre-gym
D - Not sure.  I have a ton of ground beef and chicken breasts raw in the fridge from yesterday's shopping trip.  Also have about 8 cooked breasts from dinner last night.

Today's dos:
Insane cardo class at the gym, perhaps followed by a run - depends on how wiped out the class makes me!
Heather
Since 2008 my team has raised over $42,000 to fight breast cancer.

Today is my 40th birthday. I am celebrating by moving 20 bales of hay from one end of the barn to the other, clearing out my hay room and then a Spinnerval class this evening. (My folks took me out to eat yesterday, and I had cake and ice cream).

B1- Click w/ skim milk
L - tilapia, squash, green beans, tomato - unless my parents cook for my birthday
S - quest
D - egg, egg whites, turkey bacon
S - cottage cheese, sf jello w/ fruit

I am quite sure there will be more ... keeping it protein heavy some today to help make up for the cake and ice cream yesterday.
 HAPPY BIRTHDAY LORI!!!!!

What should you eat for dinner tonight? How do you make a good protein shake? And just exactly what IS quinoa? The answers to all this and more can be found at Bariatric Foodie!

My day is going to be filled wiht shakes!  I am so mad with myself, I ate 2 chicken wings and 1 slice of pizza and gained 2 pounds!  Carbs from the thing crush pizza?  I don't know, but I am really unhappy about it.  It is too early to have set backs and weight gains.

So through a straw it is for me all day today.

B- protein shake
L-leftover steak, refried beans
D-Grilled Chicken, green beans
Snack, Greek yogurt with pineapple and sf cream cheese pudding mix.
Lately, I feel like I just can't get enough to eat. My plans to eat healthily utterly fail by the end of the day. It's either stress or boredom eating, and either way I know that all I can do is just DO IT when it comes to making better decisions. I've been really depressed over my mother-in-law's illness and am having a really hard time caring about eating habits.

On the positive side, I haven't let my exercise slide despite the ankle/achilles injury. I did 80 minutes on the elliptical yesterday and 45 this morning. Hoping to get strength training going again this week, but it depends on where the ankle is at pain-wise.

Breakfast: Coffee and chicory (I found a can of Cafe Du Monde in my freezer and french pressed some. Mmmm.)
Lunch: 4-5 oz. Roasted turkey and raw vegetables.
Dinner: Some kind of protein (chicken or beef) with broccoli and beans.
Snack: 1 scrambled egg with canadian bacon and whole wheat toast.
Dessert: Roasted peach with a dollop of vanilla yogurt.

Have a good start to the week everyone!

Peanut, I'm there with you. I don't dump and don't get sick from much of anything. That whole "I know what to do, but I just don't do it" feeling is really familiar to me.

In the big scheme of things, 20 lbs isn't the end of the world. You can drop it again, but try to have compassion for yourself. Focus on the good decisions you make, and learn from (but try not to dwell on) the bad ones.

I'll keep trying if you do!

I made lentil soup last night so most likely that all day.

eta:  I don't know if my tastes have changed or what but the lentil soup isn't sitting on my stomach well.  I wonder if it is the onion I put in it.

Started the day out by waking up late...hubby got up and turned the alarm off...which we weren't tooo late but by the time I got the kid to school...realized I should have put my swimsuit on and just went on to water aerobics so by the time I got home and got it on..and got back to the base....I was gonna be late and I just feel dead beat tired today.  We did alot of errands yesterday and i came home, cooked dinner, cleaned the kitchen and did some laundry....It was a full day and I was soooo thankful I could do it.  Now I've missed the first day of exercise...whaaaaah!

Food for the day:

B-   Scrambled egg with cheese
L-    1/2 cup of 15 bean soup I made (it's really good!)
S-   Del Monte no sugar added grapefruit cup
D-   No idea....maybe more soup?
Care to share the recipe for your bean soup?

It's super easy.....buy a pack of 15 bean soup (it's with the dried beans section) and I used some ham seasoning (ok, honestly this time I bought a ham bone from the honey baked ham store for $5.99 - the ham I had in the freezer didn't look too good after I defrosted it) and  let it cool and take the top layer of grease off. I also add a can of diced tomatoes and green chiles. Something like Rotel but I found this brand at Aldi's. I had a cup for lunch and it's sooo good and filling.  Made hubby some for lunch and he requested another cup for lunch tomorrow.  He's finicky but he's finding he likes my cooking. (I'm 2 for 2 with soups - LOL).

Ok, no back lash on the ham but it makes it really tasty!!
