Over 18 mos post op.... Am I finished losing????
I have lost exactly 100 lbs.... I had my RNY in Sept 2012. I now weigh 187.... I have been this weight for the past 6 months, give or take a pound or two...... I have slacked off the exercising due to time constraints, do you think I am finished? or do you think I could still lose more? Is it ok to be proud and happy at 187 lbs? I feel terrific and love how I look in my now size 14 clothes..... Alot better than the 26/28 I used to wear? Opinions would be appreciated..... advice too..... Thanks !!
From what I understand, your malabsorption is likely either gone or greatly diminished, so now you have a purely restrictive situation. You will now have to work more like a regular person and burn more than you consume, which will be helped by the tiny pouch. :D The information I've read from the vets on the board seems to indicate that tracking both your intake and activity is key. Hunker down and you can do it. :D

Since you have been at the same weight for the past six months, you have reached the point where your intake and your output are equal. I don't think you HAVE to be finished, though. You will have to decide what you are comfortable with in terms of calorie consumption and exercise.
My last 20 pounds took a year for me to lose. I would have liked to lose them faster, but I didn't want to slash my caloric intake to the bone.
It is certainly okay to be happy and proud at 187 pounds. We all have to live in our own skins. I am happy at my weight, though it might not be right for some folks.
