I'm also in the "could achieve flight if I flap hard enough" club. I know a brachioplasty is a ways off for me, but you may find more answers in the Plastic Surgery forum.

Good luck!

I'll keep my bat wings and wear nothing less than 3/4 long sleeves. Although some tshirts have just long enough sleeves to hide the worst of it.  The thought of that type of surgery gives me the wiilies but many people get it and love the results. I'd rather have my sagging face pinned up!

I'm with you on facial work; my neck bothers me.  However, I feel so surgeried-out over the years, I'm pretty content just TO BE.  Besides, I'm pretty sure there is yet more surgery down the road to fix long-term damage type of things like worn out knees/hips/heart valves--if I'm lucky enough to get that far, anyhow.

One time after I had brought my practically invalid mother-in-law a cinnamon roll, one of her caregivers called me "an angel". I raised my arms and flapped, and said "And I've got the wings to prove it!"

I had it last August.  Was an easy recovery for me.  The worst for me was the fact that I had it in August and it was quite warm to be wearing the arms length compression garment.  I was able to shower after 48 hours and could actually wash my hair by the third day although I didn't do a great job that day.  Each day I was able to lift my arms a little higher so the head washing got better and better as the week went on.  So glad that I did it.  I have a scar that runs from the side of my breast, up to the arm pit, and down the arm to my elbow.  Scars are not easy to see based on their location.  I have worn short sleeved shirts to work and no one has noticed the scars.  Would do it again in a heartbeat.  You will find more discussions of these types of procedures over in the plastic surgery forum.
