Bad night and still bad morning...

Last night I tried a new recipe and it did not go well. I ended up with the vomiting and upset stomach. My stomach is still upset this morning and my throat is sore. Any suggestions on settling the stomach. I just feel like crawling in a hole and sleeping but cant as I have to work. Oh and I need to get in liquids and food but nothing wants to go down easy.

I found this happened to me occasionally (still does) if I try a new food that I haven't had before. Occasionally it still happens even with foods I've done well with, sometimes because I didn't chew well enough or ate too fast, other times I can't really determine a reason. All I can suggest is to not worry about foods for a bit, stick with water and light liquids (crystal light or nectar-type shakes made with water) for a little while and see if that helps. If you're nauseated and have something like Zofran available, you can take one to try to help as well.

Good luck! Hope you're feeling better soon.

sorry to hear you had a bad night/morning.  I would suggest Protein shake, lots of tea and or water and what about cheese & crackers. Always remember when I was a kid when I got sick Mom always made buttered toast (which I know most of us don't eat bread now) so thinking something like a well chewed saltine cracker and a tiny bit of cheese?  But I think protein shakes and keep your liquids up as best you can for today will help settle your pouch and sore throat, that and time, you irritated your pouch/throat and it just needs some time to heal.

Best of luck you feel better as the day goes on.

Warm tea, sipped, always worked for me - I wouldn't even attempt a protein shake or food until you feel that all has settled down.  If you have nausea, it's likely you are dehydrated so the tea will work wonders for that too.

Try something light, that you know you can eat safely, once you are feeling more settled.
