blood sugars
I had rny surgery june 17 2013, and so far lost 117 lbs. Yahoo!!!. I was on metformin till I had my surgery then was taken off it. Last month or so I noticed that my blood sugars are getting low, feeling dizzy, lightheaded, nauseas, etc. Has anyone else experienced this??? Any feed back on this would be great, thanks...
Don't treat low blood sugar from RH the same as a diabetic would, with sugar. It will raise your blood sugar, but starts the next crash as well. RH in post-ops comes from eating too many carbs, which causes blood sugar to spike, and then crash.
Eating small meals a few hours apart, with protein first, limiting white carbs, is the general fix for RH. As Kim said, proper diet is the fix, but you will have to stay on track. There's lots more information on here about it.
Not everyone gets it, but many do.
