Dying is very rare, just make sure to ask the surgeons mortality rate that stat and make sure he has a good record and is experienced

Read my blog, where I write about having 2 lapbands, having severe acid reflux, practically choking to death most of the time, and finally surgeon recommended removing the band and doing RNY. I had band removal, RNY and gallbladder removed in 1 surgery. Had some post op complications related to gallbladder removal, but otherwise, life is good. This was the best decision for me. I lost all my weight and even more, and feel stronger and in better health than I ever did with the band. Wishing you the best of luck.

Aside from the torture like symptoms of the crap band, something else leaving patients frustrated  is the life span of the band is 10-15 years, far less than the life time expectancy given from the Switzerland manufacturer.

Only a decade ago, surgeons in my country touted it as being revolutionary in weight loss, now it's practically dead, many surgeons don't perform it anymore for the post op comps and low weight loss

When I was in Mexico there was a lady who was revising from a band to rny and she was doing just fine...she said her insurance denied it and she was feeling much better with the rny than she was with the band...so it definitely happens and a lot of cases have worked and succeed. ..so why don't u take  your chance also....best of luck
