Good Sunday morning RNY'ers
I'm feeling a bit deflated this morning. I'm 6 days post op. Since Tuesday I have gotten 48-64oz of water in me, all of my protein Wed-Sat (Tues still in the hospital). I really haven't had that incredible pain or sleepiness some report. I even thought something was originally wrong as I have lots of energy and very little pain. I use to drink about 100-120 oz of water a day and am still fighting to get the last .5 pound off of water weight from the hospital. So I've had no scale weight loss since the liquid pre-op phase. Does anyone think as long as I am sip sip sipping away that if I upped my water intake to about 80 oz a day it would be bad? I almost feel since before surgery I was taking in so much that now my body is holding onto water for dear life. Your thoughts??
Hugs, Cari

Stay off the scale. It will screw with your head. Your body is healing. You are doing what your doctor told you to do so just follow your plan.
I gained 23 pounds from fluid in the hospital. I would get on the scale and get so frustrated. So stay off the scale for a bit.
Take care. It is great you are feeling good.
It is hard to not be discouraged but let you body adjust and heal. keep up with the water/fluids - that is the most important thing to begin with then, the protein is the next area to concentrate on. You will start noticing weight loss and it will be amazing. maybe stay off the scale for a week or if that is too hard, go to weighing every three days or so. it will happen! glad you are feeling good!
