Tomorrow I will be finally getting my lap band of 10 years out and revising to RNY. I'm very scared. Worried that I'll have tons of complications and be the one person that doesn't lose weight. I'm very excited that I'm finally going to be able to get a tool that actually works to help me become a happier, healthier me. So as you can see my emotions are all over the place! Hope I can sleep tonight!

I'm so happy for you!  I had a lap band in 2009, lost a lot of weight, gained it all back and more.  I had it taken out approx. 4 months ago and then on 9/7 I had my revision to RNY.

My doctor told me that patients that had previous weight loss surgery will not lose as much as a first timer.  I lost 20 lbs on the 10-day liquid pre-op diet.  I've only lost 9 lbs  since 9/7.  I'm trying not to get down since I know that my body is going through a lot since surgery.  I've been stalled at 9 lbs for the last three or so days.  But I know the weight will continue to fall.

I wish you all the best.  Don't worry about what you can't control.  It will all be ok!

Keep us posted on how you are doing.

Hi here I think we were all in that same place just before the surgery.  You will do fine, your tool will work,   and you will lose the weight.  I'm happy for you

Now go get it done so we can all move on to swapping recipes.

We are all praying for you speedy recovery.  Post when you can.
