Checking in at 4 months post-op. All is good, weight loss is slow, sometimes stalling but successful. I am losing A LOT of hair. I mean A LOT. I am having iron checked this week. Also noticing loose skin under arms. My hypertension medication was decreased and no longer using a cpap machine!!!! I feel great, ramping up the workouts. Started running and had a good time for a 5km run. 33:45. Would love to hear Sept 2016 RNYers or WLS updates!

It is good to hear about  people who have had the surgery around the time you did. The only problem with that is we have a tendency to compare ourselves.

We all lose at different paces.

Coming here to give support and get support helps a lot. It does make us feel like we are not crazy sometimes. No one really knows what it is like unless they have had a weight problem.

I couldn't agree with you more... but many of us use the signature and health ticker which are just numbers and that in itself is a comparison tool. I was seeking updates simply to see if others are experiencing the same successes, non successes in terms of health related issues caused by our weight. Yes, we come to this website for support and seek some knowledge but at the end of the day, it is a personal journey. It's just nice to know you don't walk that path alone.

One more revelation is that every time I have apples, I sneeze 9-10 times. Anyone else experience this?

Hi! I'm four months out, and trucking along. I can tolerate most proteins now, some more so than others. I was cleared for exercise a while back and I'm working on building that into my daily routine. So far, my blood work has been good. Fortunately, I didn't have any comorbidities to contend with. Congratulations on ditching your CPAP and reduced meds! That's huge!

ive lost a ton of hair, but I'm not fussed by it. It will grow back. My skin went slack a lot sooner than I thought, but again, I'm fine with it. It's a clear sign I'm doing something right! :) I do like to wear some compression type clothes when I work out, for comfort sake.

My biggest NSV is hands down the extra energy!

Good luck and keep it up!

I am four months out... doing great.  I am waiting to get under the 200 pound mark and very excited that the CAMAW challenge this week will do it.  I have Type II diabetes, off all insulin and blood sugars are great (79 this morning!)  I still take meds for high blood pressure.  I still use my cpap but am looking forward to the day I can stop (I have no events now, it might be time).

I have a bad knee and cannot exercise like I want.  Was scheduled for a knee replacement but then I had a stroke (!) so I have a three month waiting period before they can try again.  So just doing what I can and working on getting the weight off.  I am losing some hair but not too bad.  I am seeing some crazy loose skin... my body is becoming more deflated by the day.  It does not really bother me, just so curious to see so much loose skin.  I am 58, so not a spring chicken.  Loose skin is a reality for me.

Great to hear about your success!

I'll be four months out next week. I'm doing well and can tolerate most protein sources. My hair has just started falling out and I didn't have much to begin with so I'm trying to deal with that. I'm deflating with lots of loose skin as well. I have arthritis in my feet and knees so the only excercise that's comfortable is water aerobics which I really enjoy. Only issue is im much colder in the pool! I'm enjoying the smaller sizes and the ability to move and walk much better with less weight. Waiting on my blood work so I'm hoping that will be good. Congratulations to you on your success and to all of us September RNYers.

I am almost 4 months out and have lost 83lbs. I haven't lost any hair yet, not that I have much hair lose anyway LOL! I'm getting quite a bit of extra skin on my legs and they flap together and make a clapping noise. Exercise is difficult because I have a fracture in one knee and the other knee is covered in arthritis so I have been going to the YMCA to swim laps in the pool. My energy is definitely improving as well. I am no longer a diabetic and I was doing 5 injections a day!

You are doing great! Keep up the good work!

This is FANTASTIC! Congratulations! I'm very happy you are no longer diabetic! That is victorious in itself! Way to go!
