I have just started the chopped diet. I'm having a hard time eating and getting my fluid intake in. I can't seem to find veggies that don't make me feel bloated or that don't make me throw up. Does anyone have any suggestions because I'm tired of feeling like deal most days.

Can you describe what you mean by "chopped diet?" I'm not familiar with that term.

Chopped should probably be puréed.

Veggies are are tough unless thoroughly cooked.

Honestly you you should be doing protein shakes, soups, tuna salad, maybe soft boiled egg.

Am I correct in seeing that you aren't even a full month out of surgery? The Chopped diet is the last thing you should be doing. Hopefully your surgeon sent you home with an eating plan. If not, please consult your Bariatric team for guidance. Being bloated and throwing up is no good. Please let us know how you get on. :D

I had to take a deep breath to be kind. Ok this is just MHO ...diets make you fat and where is the protein?? I didn't add veggies for a long time. 14 years later I still do protein first. Best of luck and please find a good plan that includes protein

I am four months post-op. My plan has no liquids for 30 minutes before eating - take 30 minutes to eat - wait 30 minutes after last bite to drink. Does everyone still do this? Will it be a lifelong thing? Dr. says the pouch needs to hold only the protein and absorb it. The water will flush the nutrition out and make me hungry.

It's super hard to eat without any fluids. Will I get used to it or can I change it up later on?

I'm struggling with the same thing. The best I've come up with is to eat "wet" protein like sashimi, cottage cheese, yogurt, tuna salad... If I'm eating something dry (like the tuna I overcooked on the grill last weekend) I take a small sip of water while I'm chewing it to get more of a slurry before I swallow.

I am guessing that if we chew dryer foods long enough, we'll have enough saliva to make it a slurry.
