Torso vertigo? What?!

OK, this is really weird, but bear with me. Surgery was one week ago (7/19/2017), things are going great, a tiny bit of nagging pain in one incision site is the only complaint. Here's something that struck me as really odd.

A few times during this past week, while sitting upright in a chair, I'll have the body sensation that my torso is shorter. Like my chest is attached directly to my waist, and my belly has ghosted away.

It's like vertigo or something, where my brain isn't recognizing the truth of what's actually going on. Full disclosure, no pain meds since Saturday, and it's happened both while medicated and since then.

It doesn't happen often, and it's more curious that concerning, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this sort of thing after surgery, and/or if this is a thing that has a name. Thanks!

I am a newbie too. From what I have read on here the anethesia sticks around for quite a while so I'm guessing that is what it is. If it gets worse like seeing stars or blacking out call your doctor.

Yup, in my past I was a recovery room nurse. Anesthesia sticks around. Also make sure you are getting fluids in
