I felt similar. I have shared on here in the past that I remember sitting in my local support group about 2 weeks post-op and saying something similar and the leader jokingly saying that I could go and try to eat a whopper and fries and then I would know without a doubt.

Howdy,

Yup I thought that.... :)

I have not tried overeating but I have stomach distress with certain foods and there is no doubt I have malabsorption.

I'm on day 4 post-op, and I've had this thought. I have some pain when I move too fast, and I can see incisions, and I have a sore throat. But I don't feel restricted at all; nothing tastes different (at least, broth, water, protein shakes and sugar free popsicles all taste like I remember them tasting). My friends are having take-out on either side of me and I'm not disgusted by the smell of their food, as I've read some people would be after surgery.

I'm not hitting my protein or fluid goals right now because I'm afraid to overfill myself and accidentally stretch my pouch or pop a staple or something; I just can't feel anything.

On the other hand, I don't feel hungry at all, and haven't since surgery. So I'm pretty sure this is all just part of my pre-op worry - that the surgery wouldn't "take" and I'd be the person who never lost any weight...

Everything tasted the same to me after surgery. I never got a heightened sense of smell. Those things are random.

Get your fluids in! Burning fat requires water! Get your protein in! You will start losing muscle and hair if you go too long without adequate protein.

I ate 4 bites of avacado and I wanted to die...I eat a quarter cup of cottage cheese and I feel full...I know they did something.

I kind of wish I didn't have pain...but I'm a glutton and this has got to help me....of course I'm only one week in....
