Good morning everyone :)

QOTD: A co-worker of mine in the early 90's had it. She lost a ton of weight and always enjoyed freaking me out with her loose skin. I haven't seen her in years so I have no idea how she did long term. A friend I met through my daughters sport had it about 7 years ago. She has kept it off and looks fantastic. I consulted her as I was making my decision and she said it was the best thing she ever did.

Accountability: At 3 mths post-op, I am still very much in the honeymoon phase so I am finding it fairly easy to stay on track and follow the plan set forth by my centre. That being said, I am not naive and I realize that overtime this will get more and more difficult. Thats why I am going to make a concerted effort to post in this thread everyday.

Breakfast: Matrix Mint Cookie protein mixed with Kefir and Almond milk

Snack: Red raspberry protein mixed with water (post-workout protein)

Lunch: Taco meat, lettuce, tomato and tex-mex shredded cheese

Dinner: Grilled Chicken thigh and brocolli

Snack: Light & Fit Coconut yogurt.

Activity: Arms day & 40 mins on the treadmill.

I am 3 months out, too! In fact, today is my 3-month surgiversary! For the past 2 mornings the scale recorded a 69-pound loss, and I was really hoping to see it hit 70 today! However, I've been up all night working, and will probably have to be up until 11 A.M tomorrow, working (though my back hurts, and I have taken breaks when it's insisted - thus my posts this morning!). I've been drinking tea and water all night long, and already had breakfast. Just too much to step on the scale. So I'll weigh myself on Thursday morning, after my schedule has reverted to normal and I've slept!

did OK yesterday in spite of going out for lunch with a friend and eating the tortillas from the two tacos I ordered plus 10 tortilla chips. OK calorie-wise, that is. But the sodium....UGH. Weight is up this morning. This always happens to me!! Another dinner out tonight (different friend) - not sure where yet, but I need to be more careful.

QOTD: I had a co-worker once who told me she had intestinal bypass surgery back in the 60s (or maybe early 70s - I can't remember) and lost a boat load of weight, but her surgeon insisted she have it reversed when too many people started dying from it (WLS has come a long way, hasn't it??). I have another friend who confessed she'd had lapband surgery a few years ago when I told her I was thinking about having RNY. I had no idea! She lost quite a bit of weight (not all of her excess weight, but still over 100 lbs) and has kept it off, but she's had some real problems with her lapband. I know a third person - former work colleague - who lost all of his excess weight a few years ago (certainly over 100 lbs). He said he was on the South Beach diet and had become a major gym rat. I believed him at the time, but looking back, I suspect he probably had WLS. I don't keep up with him anymore, but I check his facebook page a couple of times a year, and he's still thin as a rail. Then one of my husband's former co-workers had RNY and was very open about it - she was even featured once in a local newspaper article about various types of diets. Her RNY and drastic weight loss was before she started working there, so DH had no idea she'd had WLS, and he knew I was thinking about it so he got the two of us together. I met with her a couple of times to talk about it, and it was talking with her that prompted me to make an appt.

2 years 3 months out:

B: homemade Greek yogurt, raspberries, mango pieces (1/4 of a mango)

S: coffee with half & half, snickerdoodle latte protein/Miralax shake

L: Emiepie egg salad on a FlatOut FoldIt

D: meeting a friend, not sure yet. Something safe...

I'm taking a bag of protein chips to snack on this afternoon if needed. I want to eat a lot of protein today so I don't head into dinner too hungry!!

if I have enough calories later, then a grilled peach topped with vanilla Greek yogurt (I love this dessert!), but I highly doubt I'll have enough calories left for that...

Good Morning! I am glad that your on the elliptical went well-maybe the achilles is all healed up!

Accountability: Same ole thing for now.

QOTD: Two co-workers had had RNY many years ago (both have also had revisions) and neither has maintained. One of them actually has something weird where she says the remnant stomach reattached to the pouch?!?! Another co-worker had her surgery about a year before me and has done really well. I do have a few FB acquaintances from prior jobs who have had WLS. In my office there has been 1 RNY and 2 sleeves done in the last year or so.

Time since surgery: 3 years 1 month

B: SF latte, eggbeaters with roasted red pepper, ½ an orange and 2 turkey sausage links

L: Albacore tuna lettuce wraps and baby carrots

S: Homemade Greek yogurt with blueberries and ¼ cup bran cereal, and Buddig beef, small banana and SF popsicle when I get home

D: Top sirloin steak (4 oz), ½ a baked sweet potato with butter, edamame and SF pudding made with Fairlife topped with cool-whip

E: Ran 6 miles this morning and 40 mins of elliptical at lunch

V/W: On track

Totals: Cals:1087 Protein:108 Carbs:98 Fat:33

Have a great one!

I'm certainly no doctor but how would a remnant stomach reattach? Genuinely curious if that's a thing. Off to the Google!
