Good morning! Made it to the halfway point! I am going into the office for the first time this week. Wish I could do that more often! I have to work Saturday so really I'm not halfway through but that's okay.

Our youngest has had his name on the waiting list to be a newspaper carrier for a couple of years and just got the call yesterday. He's pretty excited and looking forward to earning some money. Which brings me to the QOTD- and I apologize if this has been asked before. What was your first job? I worked at a bookstore after school - I'm a total bookworm so I was pretty excited.

Accountability was perfect yesterday

Menu:

B: Protein Shake

L: salad bar

D: chicken breast and side salad

E: Day 3 of the 21 day Fix. I was feeling pretty good yesterday as I wasn't too sore after missing my workouts for a while but I am sore today and the scale is up to 179.4- which I knew it would be when I felt the sore muscles

have a great day everyone

RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.

Good morning :)

I'm feeling so sluggish today. I could not drag myself out of bed. We were out sort of late last night as DH sold his old car finally. It has been sitting in our driveway since we bought the van. We delivered it to the new owner last night. Today is just another day at work and after I have to run to the pharmacy.

QOTD: first jobs were babysitting, working at a self storage company, and the sock factory. The storage company was always a bit scary as a young teenager because sometimes bad customers would come in after their stuff was sold because they didn't pay their bill. Obviously people get really upset when their stuff is gone.

Post-op two years, six months. I'm going to try a different routine today. I've been having a protein shake when I get up, before I leave for work. I'm going to skip that and eat something once I get there. I've found I've been feeling really bloated all day and I'm wondering if pouchy is angry with eating too early. Before I started this role I would start the day with a big bottle of water. I'm going to go back to that for a bit.

Breakfast - egg, cheese

Snack - nuts

Lunch - turkey sausage

Snack - Greek yogurt

Snack - ham

Dinner - tbd

Snack - protein shake if needed

All water and vits.

So I do a 24oz bottle of water (with my miralax in it if I need it) on the way to work... then a big 24 ounce mug of coffee with fairlife in it when I get here... THEN I eat breakfast... typically around 9am. I get up at 5:15, but this just works for me.

It seems that once I open the flood gate (ie, put food into the pouch), I'm ready to eat for the rest of the day until I finish dinner... then a coffee at night almost always satisfies me.

I liked the conversation the other day about the importance of breakfast... I don't think we have to force ourselves to eat like so many 'diet' plans push... Do what works for you! And hope it helps with the finicky pouch.

LOL - I feel the same way about floodgates. Which is why eating the dense protein to give the "I am completely full feeling" is key for me. Those damn carbs just leave me wanting more (and more). I get up at 4:30 am, but don't eat until 8 (and have eggs). I have to eat some dense protein every 3-4 hours to stay away from the carbs. Coffee DEFINITELY helps too.

Good morning! I'm tired and feeling down today, but not sure why. Maybe because it is kind of grey and windy out (tropical storm Jose is visiting)?

QOTD: My first job was scooping ice cream at Wallaces in Natick MA. I was 14 or 15. The owner worked us like dogs for minimum wage (and we were under 16, so there weren't many jobs available). No standing around when waiting for customers: constant cleaning, etc. I didn't last long and I remember that I had blisters on my hands from scooping the ice cream (which was the really hard good quality kind).

Almost 1.5 years post-op (maintenance). 37 days to retirement (I checked my calculations again, Rosemi, so I think this is right now!).

B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

D: leftover sea bass (didn't have it last night as I was home late)

S: yogurt
