Good morning and happy Saturday! Supposed to be a lovely sunny day here today!

So we are finished our challenge and thank you to all of you when posted. If you are new to it and enjoyed the daily menu thread, I hope you will continue to post there. We'd love to have you!

Please share your thoughts and results of the week- even if you "cheated".

This is the first meat week challenge I've done as a post op and I didn't find it too bad at all. I reduced my carbs significantly and managed to lose 6.7 lbs! That's more than I lost all of last month. It was a good reminder and I will continue to follow it. I do avoid carbs but not as much as I did last week so that was a good reminder and eye opener.

Teena you did phenomenal!

Everyone: I'm going to pull results from this thread as well as the daily meal one, so you don't have to repeat in both places if you don't want to.

I am down 2 pounds (.5 under my comfortable maintenance range). That is .5 better than the last one in early June though I ended up at the same weight (started .5 higher this time). Most importantly, I greatly reduced carb cravings, which is really why I do it at this point. I did have some constipation issues the first few days, but my body rebelled yesterday and took care of that. Daily Metamucil during the next challenge probably would be a good idea.

Happy Saturday.

I enjoyed the daily posting again and will try to keep up with that in the future. My weight today is 215, that is down 1.6 in 5 days and 2.6 since my "official" weigh in date, the 8th of the month. Life has been throwing a lot of crap at me lately, but I have not completely given in, and I will succeed and reach my goal. I have 45 left to go, and I will get there!!

Good morning!! Thank you so much Teena and Liz for doing this!!

I lost 2.5 on AMAW this week. Last time I think I lost 6 or 7 but I really can't complain as my weight loss has significantly slowed the last 2 months even with the same effort. Getting close to goal is exciting, but frustrating as the losses slow....

I had a hard time drinking black coffee and at this very moment I am enjoying my coffee with glorious cream!! Ahhh, So happy. Next time I think I will go CAMAW . I dearly missed my eggs too, which I am going to enjoy for breakfast this morning, yum!

What an incredible meat week! I didn't realize how those carbs creeping in affected my cravings. I didn't think I was eating that many, but things went from difficult on Monday to pretty easy on Friday. I wasn't craving carbs and my total calories went down each day because I wasn't as hungry. I think I will plan on these periodically to keep myself on track.

Full disclosure: I ate a premier protein fiber bar last night. I think my brain was thinking that since work was over, meat week was over. Other than that, I resisted the tiny tasty morsels off daughter's plate.

Thanks to everyone that helped plan and monitor this. It really helped to be accountable every day.

Sunday: 176.0

Saturday (today): 167.6

I think I was carrying a few pounds of water weight so my weight dropped pretty quickly. My previous low had been 171, so I'm very pleased with a new low of 167!
