Hi Guys, Not sure where Teena is this morning, but I am getting us started because I am absolutely need to start this New Year by posting my menu every day. I know it's cliche, but I am starting with some resolutions and most of them revolve around holding to my menu.

HOLY CRAP it is cold out there! I still have a ridiculous cold and I can't even deal with walking out the door into -9 temps. Ugh. I know I am not the only one dealing with this, though. It looks like it is cold all over the country. Crazy. Did you see the pics of Niagra Falls frozen over? WOW.

QOTD: What fictional cast would you like to hang out with? I loved 30 Rock and would have loved to work with those guys! I also loved watching Frasier and would love to hang out at Cafe Nervosa with that whole gang :)

Accountability: Meh. One of my goal is to avoid eating anything with flour or sugar as the top 3 ingredients, but oops, I had ketchup with my burger last night. D'oh. Good reminder that I need to stay vigilant, again. I also have a step goal for the week, and since I was sick I didn't really try. Back to work today, though so my steps should be back to a decent count again without even trying.

Good morning JB and menu folks!

JB, I am sorry that you are still suffering with a cold and that it is that cold outside on top of it. Take good care and stay warm and safe.

It is cold here, but not that cold. I am working from home and our old house is not that well insulated, so I am bundled up in layers and drinking lots of herbal tea while I type.

I also agree that I need the menu thread. Teena said that she is off today, so she may be sleeping in where it is warm. I packaged up almost all of the holiday goodies and sent them to work with my wife today. I really need to not have the temptation in the house any more. I'm not going to do AMAW/CAMAW, but I want to get back to a low carb plan again. I haven't gained any weight, but I feel more sluggish and that is probably because I am allowing carbs into my diet. Yesterday, I made a pot of Hoppin' John, but I kept the rice separate. Rice just doesn't agree with me. On the other hand, I had a piece of corn bread, which wasn't the best decision either.

QOTD: When I was younger, I wanted to be a part of Little House on the Prairie. Now I don'****ch that much TV and most of it, I am glad that it isn't happening to me...

Menu:

Breakfast: 1/2 cup plain oatmeal, hard boiled egg, 2 oz ham

Snack: protein shake

Lunch: beef roast, broccoli slaw

Snack: 2 oz turkey breast, apple

Dinner: probably a hamburger or more turkey breast

Exercise: deep water aerobics starts again tonight so I will get in a bit of swimming and then class

HW: 248+, SW (RNY: 2/28/17): 244, GW (10/17): 125; LW: 115; 45# regain (19-20); CW: 135.6; new goal: 135; Plastics: Ext mastopexy, Ext abdominoplasty-5/18/2018; diagnosed w/ gastroparesis 11/20.

When I was taking care of my mom towards the end of her life, I bought a set of Little House episodes for her to watch. They were right up her alley - kind and good and gentle. She, and I, enjoyed them.
