Slow loss/stall because of calories?

So I'm a little over two months out from rny and I lost 21 pounds the first couple weeks, stalled for nearly a month, lost 18 pounds and that's where I'm sitting right about now. The scale hasn't moved in a week. Hoping i don't stall for another month again fingers crossed. I was just wondering if these stalls could be prevented i guess? Does it have anything to do with how many calories I'm taking in vs how much I'm exercising? Right now I'm taking in about 600-750 calories but I'm working out 4-5x a week burning 300-500 calories. Is there anything i should adjust or is everything good and I'm just overthinking? Thanks

Many experience a stall somewhere a month in. Beyond that it's likely what you're eating.

Be specific, what does a daily menu look like? How much protein are you getting? Are you logging your intake?

Ignore what your burning with exercise. Consider it the icing on the cake.

I log everyday with myfitnesspal. My macros are usually around 30-50g of carbs, 30g of fat and 60-75g of protein. An average day would be half a piece of whole grain toast for breakfast followed by 1/2 a premier protein & coffee. Lunch - hard boiled egg & lunch meat. Dinner - chicken breast & few veggies. Snacks - sugar snap peas & ranch. 1 square of 90% dark chocolate. Scoop of genepro for that extra protein boost. That's a pretty average day for me. I have had days where I've had a few tortilla chips or crackers, even a few bites of pizza once but definitely won't be making that into a habit.

At your stage I was still taking in two protein shakes a day. I'd strongly encourage you to drop the toast, even the veggies, and the 'bites' of crackers, tortillas and pizza. "A few" adds up quickly and could be the cause of your stall.

Focus should be on protein and maximizing this early weight loss phase.

Ditch the toast. There is no good reason to be eating refined carbs until you reach maintenance.

Skip the chocolate as well. Sure, there are some health benefits to dark chocolate, but your body does not need the sugar/carbs right now.

Find a better protein powder; Genepro is a complete scam. It's physically impossible for a protein powder to do what that one claims to. Look for a whey isolate powder, it will be absorbed much more completely and be much better for your body.

My understanding is that stalls are very common, seems to be the body's way of adjusting and redistributing when losing lots of weight quickly. I bet if you took measurements in inches, you might notice some difference.

Im no vet, still pre-op, but DH is almost 8 months out. When he stalls, we just declare that he's "morphing in to his ultimate form!" But we're both nerds that way ;)

While stalls happen to mist of us, myself included, I didn't eat any carbs except a few non starchy veggies until at goal. I basically was at 20g or less per day. Now I very occasionally gave a protein bar but still have my carbs coming from veggies and try to stay under 50g of carbs. My suggestion would be to keep your calories between 600-700 and try to only have dense protein with a few veggies on occasion. I would also try to get upwards of 90 g of protein and 100oz of fluids. Worked for me. Join the daily menu board for ideas.
