okay here it goes I'm 10 years out An have gained 25 pounds back. I'm trying to get the weight off an nothing seems to be working goes anybody have any advice. Thanks

I am curious if going on a liquid diet will help. Have you tried talking to a dietitain?

No way! Liquid diets are just that--diets. The best thing we can do is utilize our pouch, which feels restriction on dense protein.

The best thing to do when you are facing regain is to go back to basics.

  • Dense protein first, then veggies if there is room. Nothing else.
  • Weigh and measure your food.
  • Log everything into an app like My Fitness Pal.
  • Wait at least 30 minutes before drinking after eating.
  • Stay hydrated and drink 64+ oz a day.
  • High Weight before LapBand: 200 (2008)
  • High Weight before RNY: 160 (2015)
  • Lowest post-op weight: 110 (2016)
  • Maintenance Weight: 120 (2017-2019)
  • Battling Regain Weight: 135 (current)

And many of us need to be under 800 calories a day to lose weight (following JBs suggested guidelines).

A liquid diet at this stage with a mature pouch will just leave you feeling hungry. I second what other posters have said. Weigh and journal every single bite you eat and cut out all carbs:sweets,rice,bread of any kind,pasta and starchy veggies like corn and potatoes(those things that taste best!). Eat a dense protein like beef,fish,pork or chicken and if room a small serving of non starchy veggies:green beans,broccoli or cauliflower to name a few. My surgeon says a meal should never be a total of more than one cup of food(8 ounces). So if you're eating more than that it's too much. When I need to lose weight Ihave to eat under 800 calories per day. Make sure to drink at least 64 ounces of no calorie fluids too and if you drink coffee with creamer remember the calories from that in your daily total.
