I am about 8 months out from surgery and have lost 66 lbs. I feel like it's not working as well as it does for others. I met one man who lost 150 lbs in 7 months. then my step sister had the same procedure and lost 100 lbs in 6 months. feeling a bit discouraged.

Comparing your weight loss to others (and particularly men..then can lose really fast) is a waste of your time.

What matters is what YOU are eating. How You are doing.

What are you eating?

I don't feel like I am making thst poor of choices. but I did decide to start a food journal so maybe that will open my eyes to where I might be failing. I also struggle with getting my protein in everyday.

you are right though, I shouldn't compare myself to others, gotta keep working on that.

Protein is huge. You should at this point be eating pretty much only protein and bacon. There's always room for bacon. Once I was far enough out that I could physically get it in, I ate 100g a day whi*****luded one protein shake.

My husband had RNY last May and I had mine in Feb. if I compared my weight loss to his, I'd feel like a complete failure. I am not losing as fast as he did. But men do lose faster, and there are a gazillion other factors, such as activity level, what you are eating on a daily basis, how much water you're drinking, salt, what weight you started at, and I could go on and on.

what does a day of eating look like for you?

it is all about what and how much we put in our mouths.

As Holly said if you give us an idea of what you are eating we can better help you. There might be some tweaks we could suggest.

thanks for the reminder not to compare myself to others, this is a big struggle for me. I have started a food journal and hoping this will open my eyes to where I need to work on.
