Uggh I haven't told my dad for the exact same reason and I made my mom promise not to tell him either. He'd also be the type to tell me "Oh, just push away from the table." Dad we are soooooo way past that!

I have to agree with Laura, in most of the pics you do look great and in one or two you look really thin. But I also would not intentionally try to gain.

I don't know of any apps that will do the reminders but you can set up a daily event in your calendar that will alarm every day at the set time(s) you need to take your meds.

I've had the same thoughts as you. As you can see from my stats I've been a member of this forum since 2009 but I haven't taken this major step until now. I was scared of having surgery, scared of the pain after surgery, and definitely scared that I would hate how I would look with the saggy skin etc.
But.. I have 4 kids that I want to watch grow up and I also want to be able to play with my grandkids 20 years from now. I want to be healthy. My parents and grandparents ALL are diabetic and have hypertension. I already have hypertension and I don't want to become diabetic. All of this is to say when I did my list of pros and cons my pros outweighed any con I could think of.
Thanks to the support of my husband, my friends, and now the friends I am making here I now look forward to my journey.

I've found that any good information that should be coming from the main board gets lost by all of the foolishness that people get caught up in on there. Everything seems to turn into a WLS gang war. I go on there at times whenever I need a good laugh because the name calling and "cyber thugging" to me is so amusing.

I'm right along with you. I have been contemplating the surgery since 2009. And I've decided that this year is my year! And just like you, now I want it done right away! I've already had a doctor that was taking too long to put the referral to the surgeon in so I switched doctors (I was only with that doctor for a week). Now I'm waiting for my surgeon referral from my new doctor. I will hopefully have it by tomorrow.
From the people I met, it's the people that are more proactive that get things moving quickly. You can do things like if your appointment is too far out (for your liking), you can call the office once or twice a week to see if there were any cancellations. I'm all about being proactive.
