Topic: RE: Ramen Noodles- Lesson Learned
Ohh boy.. We always have to learn the hard way, right? I'm almost a year out and I want some ramen noodles BAD!!!! But, I know where that will take me. Keep in mind, pasta and rice can ( and usually do) do the same thing.. It's understandable, wanting that comfort ... Maybe a few months down the road you can try another bite .. But, just a bite :) today, I had a chocolate dipped strawberry, just one, it was amaze balls!
keep doing what you're doing, it sounds like you are moving in the right direction.

Topic: RE: How do you cook for your family after WSL
My kids are adults.. My husband works 150 miles from home so is only here on the weekends. I don't cook often.... BUT, when I do... It's ON LIKE DONKEY KONG!! They all scatter until its TIME... I cook the same things I always did, I taste, I tweak :) I just don't eat 3000 calories worth of it :)

Topic: RE: A little hope for those that struggle with compulsive food thoughts
Omg.. I thought it was just me... I have become obsessed with food since my surgery! Not eating it, because I just can't.. But I watch foodnetwork, constantly, and I look at recipes ... I think I am trying to find something that will work for me alas... Nothing really does. I watch other people eat.. How they eat, how much.. Just wishing that I could too. I spend a lot of time thinking about food.. When the next attempt at food should happen, how long should I wait to try again... It drives me crazy. Nik, I think you nailed it when you said you just wanted some mental peace... Me too

Topic: RE: Onederland..... Oh Yeah!!!!
Yay for you Lori!! How exciting!!
Topic: RE: 6 days post-op and very confused
Aww, it will get better... The most important thing right now is for you to drink. The rest of it will fall in line, it just takes some getting used to. Statistically speaking only 30% of RNY folks dump.. You may be one that doesn't. You can try soy milk, or unsweetened almond milk. Are you on full liquids? Since you paid your Doc to give you this surgery, you are within your rights to RIDE HIS ASS LIKE SEABISCUIT until his office gives you answers to your questions !! Make them help you. You can always ask here as well. Also, there is a search box at the top of the screen.. You will find tons of answers to questions that have been asked. Good luck to you, hope you feel better soon and please, be KIND to yourself. You just had some major surgery.. It WILL get better :)

Topic: RE: help,,,,what did i do wrong?
It probably was nothing that you DID.. It just happened. In my opinion it is MUCH more important that you get your liquids in right now... Especially after your evening adventures. Hope you feel better soon.

Unless your plan is specifically stating liquids.. you might want to go towards more solid dense protein. No refined carbs, but lots of vegetables. You need the carbs for energy to continue the kickboxing!  Also, WATER, WATER, WATER! It helps you dispose of the waste (insert fat) that you are creating.
I hope you are logging and paying close attention to what you are eating. If you aren't getting enough calories your body will slow down and not allow you to lose weight.
Keep up the good work! You CAN do this!

totally normal.. Mine lasted about a month!
Topic: RE: Typical Newbie Worry--But I am really starting to feel like this isn't working for me :(
It's not a race. It's a lifestyle. Have you ever lost 25 pounds in a month before? I was one of those fast loosers.. it's not all it's cracked up to be ( believe it or not lol) I have tons of loose skin and it aint pretty. THe thing you might want to focus on is getting healthy! However long it takes, because THAT is the reason you had this surgery, right?
Just like every surgeon has their own plan, every body has it's own response. You are loosing, you will continue to loose.. it's all good!

Topic: RE: Decision Making
If you trust your surgeon and I would hope you do... You may want to do as suggested. They have lots of experience in the best outcome for your current weight and bmi.
Topic: RE: Eww Almost 4 wks Post Op - Incision Still Seeping
I had to pack my big left side incision for about six weeks.. Then, all of the sudden.. It just got better I know it's a freaking pain! My doc says the key to encouraging it to heal faster is to keep it as dry as possible. Maybe you could find some time in your day to just let them get some air? It might help?
Topic: RE: Have to go back on BP meds...
Missy, I was taken off my BP MEDS right after surgery too.. I was constantly dehydrated so my pressure ran low. When my fluid levels came back up, so did my pressure so I had to go back on my MEDS. But, last month, after 130 pounds lost.. I went off again! So, don't give up :) it could happen for you!

Topic: RE: A few issues 10 weeks out, looking for advice/suggestions
I'm sorry to hear that you feel so bad. Follow up with somebody! I also have issues with food so I depend on Click and Big Train protein. At least twice a day. I am so used to being nauseated I don't know what I will do if it ever goes away.. You might take a look at bariatric foodies blog, and the world according to eggface. They have great recipes that are high in protein. Quinoa is a good source as well. I add it to anything I cook that has liquid in it... Takes about five minutes and viola! Are there any foods that you CAN eat without feeling sick?

Topic: RE: Would almost rather be sick! -OT
Lol.. I remember that issue.. Be glad it isn't Norvasc ground up.. Talk about NASTY!! Ohh and Nexium gets stuck in the ridges of your teeth, then, when you chew the little tiny balls pop and you get THAT happiness spreading through your mouth. Yep, the day I was cleared to swallow my pills was a good one
Topic: RE: OT: Homecoming Dance update
