Scott is at Beach Bend, KY and the thrill ride button is gone!   He is green around the gills after TWO rides!   I am so glad I am at work and not in KY!!!  The boys are laughing at him and the parents agree that they are to old to do this.   OH WELL!!!

Tell Scott I hope he feels better soon. I wonder it that will happen to me? One of my goals when I lose enough is to visit all the great roller coasters. Wouldn't it be funny if I can't take those anymore?

I know exactly how he feels.  I went to Beech Bend last year after losing all the weight and I got so sick after the first ride....."The Scrambler"..........it scrambled me alright!!  It took me a good two hours to recover enough to just try and ride something else.  Hang in there Scott!!

Mmm. Gotta wonder if it is an RNY thing rather than an age thing.

Ewwww..  riding roller coasters was NEVER a goal of mine after weight loss!   I got green just reading about Scott!    Hope he gets to feeling better, is he on a field trip?

Why heck, I could have saved ya a few bucks on gas! Rivergate has a carnival going on right now. They have a scrambler, a zipper, and a few other whirly gig rides that Scott could have practiced on! LOL

I agree with whoever said ITS AN AGE THING! I am too scared to get on it myself.

Say it ain't so!!! I haven't been on any kind of ride since surgery and I so want to go.

Perhaps it is something in those theme park hotdogs that protect us from getting sick on rides. Not that I'm suggesting Scott test that theory!!

Sonya, I'll tell you what, make you a deal that is...

IF after your surgery, you are STILL hungry... and weak due to hunger...  I will bring you a thick icy cold shake, flavor of your choice.   And, you can sip away at your heart's content.  How is that?

Now, my dear, what I failed to tell you is that it WILL be a protein shake, but a shake nevertheless!

LOL.  I'm so bad!

I wonder if RNY surgery does affect your enjoyment of carnival rides? I am scheduled to go to DisneyWorld over Thanksgiving so I sure hope not!

I'm taking my niece and nephew to Six Flags Atlanta (both White Water and the theme park) the first weekend in June, and I'll report back. Man, I love roller coasters! I sure hope I don't get sick!!

I went to Six Flags in Altanta in April and also Six Flags in Louisville about 3 weeks ago, and had no issues.

But I've never gotten sick in the past either.

BTW, the only thing that did affect me was the thought that I felt like a REAL person again and not get denied a ride!  The first one that I got on since surgery in Atlanta was a wooden coaster with the center seat dividers and I fit JUST FINE!!  No problems.  I also most started to cry right there.

Riding a roller coaster is not a goal of MINE but it is a goal of my nephews.  Personally, I could wait the remainder of my life, especially after the spinal fusion.  I feel for Scott, ole boy!  Don't think we can blame this on the RNY though, this is stickly age.....sorry buddy!
