 Dallas, TX Member Since: 06/07/04 [Latest Posts] | Post Date: 7/4/05 5:52 am Tomorrow (Tuesday) my younger daughter, Jenn, is going to have her WLS surgery. When she first told me she was looking into it a couple years ago, it opened up the possibility for me as I researched it in order to be supportive of her. I had my own WLS 4 months ago yesterday. I am so proud of her courage and determination. However, she lives in Florida.... she is my "baby," and I can't be there with her. She has great family support and she is going into it with all her ducks in a row. I just regret that I am not able to be there with her.
I would be most grateful if you will just send up a prayer for her ...and keep her surgeon in your prayers, too!

As you well know, I am not overly fond of being in photos...but one that you took of Jenn and me together, is a treasure to me for 2 reasons...it is of the two of us...and I actually liked the picture of me...for some reason I could almost see "me" in the picture. It held out hope for me.
Ann...please give me a call at home. I will be here this morning and I would really appreciate talking with you.

She has to be up early in the morning and at the hospital at 5:45 am (Florida time). I will call her as she is driving to the hospital to give her one last pep talk.
I will look forward to getting the call that she is in the recovery room and doing well.

I know how hard it is to be away from the family that you love. My dad is 84 and lives in Maryland. I am having my surgery here in Texas on July 12. I don't want him to worry so I am not even going to tell him. But then I too get worried that something might happen. A friend from church told me about her sister-in-law dying from a blood clot after this surgery. I know that is a definite threat. I plan on walking my butt off as soon as they will let me up. I recently had gall bladder surgery and it was a breeze, so I am hoping that I will bounce or at least dribble right back also. I have my pre-op meeting with the surgeon on Wed. of this week. Keep me in your prayers. Congratulations on your tremendous weight loss. Keep on keeping on!!!!! |

She will do GREAT!!! I know it must be hard not to be able to be
