This should get you to the info you seek. :) Someone else will probably come along and tell you more after this. I've never been so this is my first conf. The hotel is the San Luis and if you use the code RYD when you call for reservations, it is only $95/night. I don't know teh deadline for this since they have extended it once. I don't know when the $70 for the conference is actually due either, email Yvonne for that one. She has her email address on her post. Email her or Debra or Ramon. Yvonne has always replied and replied quickly.   |

I must say I paid to go to Austin last year then chickened out at the last minute. I've had a weight gain and have been so ashamed of myself and feel like a failure. I'm taking baby steps to get on track. Made an appointment to go have a check up with an rny surgeon. I haven't seen once since I was a year out from my surgery.
Since moving down here, I've gained about 45lbs or so. Perhaps I will work up the nerve to go to the next one. I love reading about everything that goes on.
Everyone seems to have a connection on the Texas board. All my old support friends from the MI board are long since gone. Just wanted to say Thank you for all the effort and hard work the 3 of you put into the conferences. I will try to attend one of these.

I can't tell you how much difference these can make in your life. This event would absolutely be the most perfect one to come to. Please email me at justyvonne@gmail.com and talk to me OK? It can turn your journey around and get you back on track. Don't wait until the next one or the next one because you need to get recharged now. If you wait, it will just be worse. Please try to come. This is the most loving, supportive bunch around and I can't tell you how accepting we are. You are exactly who should come. Have I begged enough to maybe get you to come? Please???

Who knows when or where the "next" one will be. This one is in your backyard just about. This will recharge you. Seeing best friends for the first time. Meeting those from all over the state. I am from Harlingen, drove to San Antonio Monday-Tuesday work Training and took the rest of the week off as Vacation to visit my sister in Austin (where I am presently at) and then will be going to Dallas on Friday Morning. "R,Y, D and S" have really been working hard on this and I'm recommending it to all my WLS patients who are not already a part of OH or RYD. I saw Dr Wilkenfeld this AM, and this will be a new experience for him...he's used to doing office seminars ....not sure how he'll respond to all our crazy folks  Seriously, he is a gentleman and truly cares about each of his patients so I'm sure he will have some great things to say about lap band. Also excited myself to hear about some of the newer techniques around the corner and in development from Dr. Eric Wilson. I went to the OH conf in November and have been to many DFW dinners/events. This is the BEST OH board by far!!! You could not find a better more accepting group of folks anywhere!! I will post details about the Saturday nite dinner later in the week.......we will have door prizes, lots of PEEP time, lots o hugs and just a great time!! If anyone has ANY hesitation about coming down to the island only 8 months after IKE, I will tell you that it is 90% back in the tourist areas! If you don't believe that the island is back and improving every day, check one of the links in my siggy line below.......look for the Buzz Blog on the island's local newspaper......it details all the places that have rebuilt or are rebuilding.....it's coming back!
