Just wanted to give a little update on the overstitch procedure. First let me say it is incredibly difficult to not eat anything but liquids for 2 weeks. The day of the procedure (5-20-11) I weighed in at 310, this morning I weighed in at 297. 13 lbs down in 12 days. So, so far so good, still recovering a bit, not really from the surgery itself but from being "under."

Ill keep you posted!

I would like to help you but you cant fix stupid.

Hi John !!

congrats    - I was wondering what was going on with ya and the status of the "next" step that you were looking at.............Nice to see you doing so well !

Good Luck - I didn't realize what procedure you were for sure going with and I hadn't heard....

What exactly is this procedure - I hadn't heard of it  -
  • Pease check out Dr. Connie Stapleton's Website. A lot of good information on there for all WLS patients regardless of the surgery you chose.  Good luck to all and I'm here for you if you want to send me an email.  I'll answer it as soon as possible.

Its basically a "tuneup" of the original RNY. They go in and stitch the opening tighter, mine was stretched out HUGE.

What an awesome result.  I can't imagine being on liquids, I know it must be hard but stick with it, only a couple of days left.

Awesome news John.   Hang in there.....the liquids are tough to do but we CAN do hard things as we all know what all we have accomplished already with your original WLS.    Good luck to you and hope you get the results from the overstitch that you are wanting.   Have a great week.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian
