Topic: RE: Question for BTC patients

Rosalinda, I had my surgery at BTC at Wylie and will try to answer your questions. No you will not have to do a bowel prep and drink that horrible stuff. They will ask that you do clear liquids the day before your surgery. BTC is great about giving you all the extra goodies you might not even imagine (binder, eggcrate for your bed, toiletry set, tongs, bathbrush). They even had flowers waiting for me when I checked in the morning of surgery. Do not buy a binder. You will wake up from recovery with one on. Wear it a lot and follow Dr Leverton's instructions. She is an awesome doctor and cares so much about her patients. Good luck on your surgery. Let me know if you have any other questions. Ann

Topic: Lab Results

My Primary Care Physician, Dr Julie Graves, called me at work today when she received my results from Lab Corp. She was so pleased. She said, "you were healthy before Ann, but this is so wonderful...even your cholesterol that was 180 before surgery is 134 now". I was so pleased that she called me herself to deliver the news. I told her about my 18.5 inch loss over the last three weeks. Dr Graves is an incredible physician and a person who supports her patients to be their best. I am so lucky. I sure recommend her for anyone in Dallas, Texas.

Topic: Success at Curves

I joined Curves three weeks ago. I even invited a friend to go with me yesterday. I got remeasured and I have lost 18.5 inches from my first visit. (Only .5 inches from my rear end where I need it most) It was encouraging to see results since I have been on this blasted plateau. I always thought when someone said "if you're not losing weight...you're losing inches" that it was just something to make themselves feel better. I guess it is right though. I'll just keep going and following my doctor's instructions and hopefully the weight will come off. I go on Wednesday for my three month post op visit. It will be interesting to see if I have lost any weight and how my labwork turned out. Thanks for the encouragement. (Ann in TX)

Topic: Company at Curves

I have been going to the Curves on Mockinbird and Abrams in Dallas in the afternoons after 4:30. Any interested in joining me? I wouldn't mind meeting some other post ops, having the company, and staying motivated. I am getting really discouraged. It is not easy when I still have 200 more lbs to lose and it is going slowly. Feel free to reach me at AE_Brown@hotmail.com Ann

Topic: Curves

I went and did something yesterday morning I could have never imagined before. I joined Curves which is a workout facility for women. Hopefully I can lose some inches while building up my strength. Plus, it is quickly getting to be too hot for walking outside here in Texas. I needed something I could be committed to for the next year. I look forward to the day I can do something more rigorous but at 349 lbs, this seems like a good start. I'd be glad to have any of the Dallas women come join me and be workout buddies. I am going to the Curves located on Mockingbird and Abrams. Just let me know if you are interested. (AE_Brown@hotmail.com). I especially wish a good day to all of you whose mothers are no longer alive. I miss mine dearly. I just keep remembering how very excited and proud she would be of me for my weight loss surgery journey. Keep in the good work.
