I compare WLS to having your first baby.... you know it's going to change your life- most everything in a good way. You deal with the negative "stuff" because its Oh SO Worth it!. You don't really really know what to expect but you have a good idea. And in the end you look back and think- wow! I'm glad it's a part of my life!
I'm a speech language pathologist in a school district. I had my band placed during the summer (June actually) so that I'd have plenty of time to heal and get a hold on the new eating. While it made it easier, I think that had I done it during the calendar months of working that I would have been ok too.
Good luck and ask away! There's always someone here that's "been there, done that!"
Also, we have infrequent get togethers in the metroplex so the next time we have one you need to come!
