I'm only almost 4 months out, but my weight loss has slowed down a bit, but my goal is to lose another 34 pounds before August.  This will put me at 100 lost in 6 months. My question is, I've read on here at a time that some of you vets are going to liquid diets 1-2x a week to help jump start the weight loss.  I might be mistaken, but what exactly have you been doing?  I thought that maybe doing one day of a liquids a week might help get it in gear.   My exercise has been consistent, but I might up that as well.  Any thoughts?

That's an aggressive goal and I admire you for pushing yourself.  Some people swear by the 5 day pouch test to get you going again.  http://5daypouchtest.com/ Increasing your exercise will help tremendously.  Become a gym rat. Reduce your carbs.  You don't have to consume 40 carbs a day.  I consistently keep mine under 20g/day. If you really want to go extreme for a while, go back to liquid shakes and clear liquids, not twice a week but all week.  Most of us lost 10-20 lbs on the 2 week pre-op liquid diet.  You probably can't lose that now because you are much smaller but the results would be just as dramatic as a percent of your EWL. Good luck.

Hi Phil! I was impressed by your carbs under 20g/day.  Can I ask what a normal day or 2 of eating looks like for you?  I'm working hard to stay under 40g, so I'd love some "best practices" for reducing my numbers! Thanks & congrats on your results!!!

I don't use one of those tracking sites.  I just start a new post-it note every day with a P (protein) and W (water) column. Here's the protein from yesterday and is pretty typical for me: 15 g - Hot Chocolate from nashuanutrition.com....love that stuff and a good start to the day 10 g - Scrambled eggs w Cheese 7g - Leftover chicken 20 g - half of a 42g protein bullet that I put in a bottle of water for the gym 20 g - Protein shake after getting home from gym 18 g - Boca burger w Cheese That's 90 protein and maybe 15 carbs at most.

I don't even know why I bother responding, anymore.  Jen's got it, and I totally agree, he is a smartypants...that Phil. You can do it, Ronda. Work it! Just like the two above said. It is a big goal, but you've got nothing to lose by trying... Good luck to you. Mary Claire
