I sooo feel your pain. I am finally sleeved now, but I had a 10 day liquid diet before surgery and I just thought I was going to DIE! The first 3 days I was angry, depressed, sad, furious, etc...I was ready to throw up my hands and call the whole thing quits. I knew I really couldn't do that though, I had put so much effort into the WLS process including 1.5 years of going to classes, testing, weigh-in's, dr.'s visits, sleep studies...etc. Plus I knew there would be very little hope of me ever EVER getting and keeping the weight off. I buckled down and pushed through and by the 4th day it got better, much better. It's those damn first few days of carb de-toxing that is just so damn awful! Did I cheat? Yeah, a little....but I cheated with lean protein, so if you're gonna do it.... do it wisely. I was suppose to have 3 or 4 shakes per day plus 1 cup greens for dinner. I did have my shakes and would have fresh spinach salad with fat free vingarette for dinner, but cheated by adding a couple grilled chickn tenders or salmon on top. I still lost about a 1lb per day and that really was the ultimate goal anyway so it got the job done. Here I am now 2 weeks post op and SOOOOO glad I didn't give up. You can do it!!
