I am about 5 months post op. I have lost 65 lbs so far. Before I lost any weight I was constantly getting sick, if anyone around me was sick, I knew it was a matter of time and I would have it. Now that I am feeling so much healthier, I was thinking and excluding pneumonia right after surgery. I havent even caught a cold since.

Has anyone else noticed an increase in there immune system after losing weight?

Only 7.5 weeks out, but I am surrounded each day at work by a cesspool of coughing, hacking germs.   Not even a hint of illness :)

Yea, elementary schools will do that to you :(  Feel better!  My class is coughing so much, so loudly, and so frequently that I am struggling to teach "over" the coughing.  This poor little ducks should be home and resting :(

I agree  --  I used to get a cold about once every 5 years.  Now I have had bronchitis, 2 colds and 2 stomach issues since surgery in October.  Other than that everything is fine.  Now if this headache would just go away...

I personally think it the fluids, high protein, low carbs and vitamins. Keep washing your hands!

I had the worst year last year for getting sick! Every kid that came in the room with a cold gave it to me! I think I had 5 colds in 8 months. It was utterly ridiculous. This year nothing (knock on wood, plz don't let this be a jinx, salt over the shoulder, etc...)!

I attribute it to a far healthier lifestyle on my part - clean food, lots of fluid, vitamins, vitamins, vitamins and more movement. I'm sure most of us are much healthier on a daily basis than we have been in years! I know i am!

Washing your hands helps big time, too!
