Just released from Mexicali Hosp at 11:30. Went and sat under the palms at a sunny poolside +22c for an hour then went for lunch. Spent just over an hour in the restaurant and was able to sip a bowl of consume and almost two cups of tea. A couple of hiccups at the end and I stopped. That's almost three cups of liquid.... Does that seem like too much on day three? Luvin my sleeve so far if this is what it is like. Minimal incision pain, no laparoscopic air pain, no gas, no nausea. No real sense of hunger either, just knew I had to get liquids in.  And I had already sipped a cup of broth and 500ml of vitamin water this am.

Welcome to the bench. It definitely is a lot more than I was able to get in, but I did suffer from the gas pain, so I think that made the difference. At this rate, you will have no trouble getting in your required liquids. Congrats!

PS. So jealous of the weather too. It only got as high as 17c when I was there. It was funny seeing Ernesto in a winter coat, mittens and a scarf, while I was in a t-shirt and jeans.

I had no restriction with clear liquids right from the beginning - Dr Aceves said not to worry about it. It is great that you are able to get them in, it will really help you make a rapid recovery!

lucky you! - that was the hardest part for me... I could barely have 1/2 gatorade per day back then or even water or soup...

Sounds like recovery is going great I bet sitting by that pool in Mexico was a neat experience (at least it would have been for me... I've never left the USA before!)

Glad you are doing so well. Since liquids are a priority right now you are fortunate to be able to get them in. Hope you have a safe trip home. Keep us posted on your progress!
