Slap yourself if you feel guilty about eating an extra carb today

Wow -  Just freakin WOW! Decided to review one of my binge eating days in my old life. These days usually hit on the weekends. I mean I worked hard all week and I "deserved" to treat myself with goodies. Now for some - this amount of food might seem impossible. Be assured this is quite an accurate account of the ridiculously gluttonous massive amount of calories that I would consume on a weekly basis.

So next time you feel guilty for eating an extra 10 carbs please bonk yourself on the head and realize that you will probably not die.

It almost makes me want to cry how out of control I was. When I was eating like this on a regular basis It didn't seem that out of control. Now that I look back i am in awe at the sinful amount of calories I would consume in a day. Now take into account that I didn't include the billion grams of saturated fat or carbohydrates that would even add more depressing shock value to the situation.

VSG literally saved my life. I was on the path to eating myself to death (literally digging my grave via fork)

And anyone that doesn't say VSG saves lives you can tell them to stick a spork in their eye!

If your brave enough to review the foods I ate in just 1 days time - here you go. 7020 calories!!!
Breakfast
2 Egg Mcmuffins 600 calories (had to eat 2 they were buy 1 get 1 free)
hash browns 150 calories
2 large cokes 620 calories (free refills - must get my moneys worth)
2 apple pies 520 calories (2 for a buck - what a deal)

Lunch
1200 calories Box Kraft macaroni and cheese with 4 cheese hot dogs 560 calories (whats a serving size? meh 1 box sounds about right)

desert Ben and Jerry pint 1160 (bowls are overrated - straight from the carton until empty)

Dinner
2 McDonald's double cheeseburgers 880 calories (they are only a buck - must get 2)
Large fries 500 calories (small fries are for kids)
Large Coke 310 (went thru drive thru so no refills .. sigh)
2 apple pies 520 calories (again .. 2 for a buck - sweet)

Wow, you went light on dinner, on my binge days I could literally put down a Big Mac, 2 cheeseburgers, 10 nuggets and a large fry, wa**** down with a large chocolate milkshake and an apple pie!

I remember easily eating a loaf of bread with a jar of PB&J and a jar of jelly (washed down with at least a half gallon of milk).

I do not miss the "me" that used to do it, and I don't miss how it made me feel. I do get aggrevated over a few extra carbs now though, b/c it means I have to run that much farther to get it off, before I didn't worry about what it would take to burn it off LOL

Oh I forgot about the PB & J binges.  Sometimes followed by the grilled cheese binge or boloney and cheese binge because I needed to finish the loaf of white bread that I purchased just for the occasion. UGH.

I can totally relate. I started bingeing around the age of 8.  Once I was an adult making a decent living, I put all of my extra cash towards bingeing. The amount per week was incredible.

Two typical binge dinners:
1.
Big Bordurrito from On The Border with cheese dip poured on it (the burrito alone is over 1000 calories)
chips, salsa, pico degallo, refried beans
2 bottles of Hawaiian punch and 2 candy bars that I purchased on the way home
- sometimes I had the nerve to add a couple of tacos or beef empanadas.  I called them so much for takeout  that they recognized my voice on the phone.

2.
10 piece dark meat bucket of fried chicken from KFC- it was only $9.99! ( I usually only ate 5-6 pieces at once and finished the rest later)
fried apple pies
KFC family sized mashed potato and gravy
yeast rolls that I picked up at a different drive through ( I saved the  KFC biscuits for later)
Soni**** cream to go with the apple pies

I love not being able to binge.  I actually WANT vegetables now.  I'm grateful everyday for VSG.

Just curious... what is your daily calorie intake now?

Is there a troll in the house? I cannot believe you ate it all after VSG.  Not possible.  I could not do it with full stomach.  I take this as a joke.

I think the original post was referencing a pre VSG binge.  I couldn't keep paces with that, but I sure do not miss my over the top binges!

It doesn't seem impossible. I was reading it and I was like "oh, you HAVE to have AT LEAST 2 hash browns if you're going to have 2 egg mcmuffins. 3 works better. Double cheeseburgers? Should have gone for Double Big Macs!" (Yeah... I used to order so much that sometimes I'd order 2 drinks so that it didn't seem like it was all for me and it got to the point where I was embarrassed for everyone to see me walk to my apartment with 2-3 take out bags so I would always have those reusable grocery bags in my car so I could carry my food up in "private."

I swear when I'd go to Mc Donalds I would order a 50 piece (not a typo), 2 big macs, 2 apple pies, 2 double cheeseburgers and a large fry. The meat from the cheeseburgers would go IN the big macs and make "double big macs" and I would eat both of them and I'd eat like 1 or 2 of the boxes of 10 piece chicken nuggets, the fries and an apple pie. Sometimes I couldn't eat the whole 2 double big macs, but it could just be saved until the next meal. The other 30-40 nuggets and apple pie were my SNACK later. Granted, that gigantic freakin meal would take me an hour or more to eat but I'd do it and love it.

I'd eat out every damn night. I'd bring home enough food for 3 people every night and usually fini**** as one meal and sometimes wish I had ordered more. That was less than 3 months ago. It doesn't even make sense. I miss it actually.... but you're right about not freaking out over eating a few extra here and there. I do freak out. I'm sure I'm annoying to everyone I know. I am constantly thinking "what is that? what is it made of? oh it has carbs... can't do it. too many calories..." I don't even know what bread tastes like! Chocolate and candy? Omg! On the other hand, I'm over the my food options so I just kind of choose not to eat.

I just started rambling! Back to your point.... thank you for bringing it into perspective. I forgot that what I used to eat in 1 night is, not only my cost of food for days, if not a week, but it's also likely the amount of calories I eat in well over a week.

I'm so glad that my days of binging are over.  These posts brought the memories back of those awful nights when I would hate myself and my eating with every bite.  I, too, remember ordering more than one drink so the drive-through folks would think I was ordering for more than one person.

I remember nights of eating an entire pizza with a 2-liter bottle of regular soda and, a little later, a pint of Ben & Jerry's or an Entenmen's cake or bag of cookies for dessert.

I'm only 2 1/2 weeks post-op, but I already wish I'd opted for surgery years ago.  I would have saved myself so much heartache.

I feel strong and able to eat appropriately for a sleeved person and every day feels like a victory.

Thank you for sharing!

You guys are cracking me up!!!!

One time years ago (decades ago!), on the way to Weigh****chers for my very first meeting, I stopped at Taco Bell for six tacos and a great big coke, and Winchell's (are they still around?) for a dozen donuts.  Which I polished off in the car, then happily went into the meeting to weigh in.  The following week I had lost 13 lbs.  No surprise there!
