Whole Blood? Wow that seems soon. On line it reads we have to wait 12Mont post surgery, But I'm not sure if that applies for certain surgeries or what? Did they ask for Dr note or anything?
No they didn't know I had, had surgery...They checked my ron and it was good.

I donated blood roughly 1 month after surgery.
They knew I had surgery and they were fine with it.

Really, I wonder if it causes wl to slow down? or low protein?
The doctor at the donation center said I had to wait 6 weeks before I could dontate plasma again.  I waited 6 weeks and have been going twice a week since then.  I have been having a problem with my feet swelling and my PCP and surgeon couldn't figure it out until I mentioned donating plasma.  They said "that's it!".  They said donating plasma was pulling protein (especially a certain component of the protein) off and I haven't been able to replenish with just what I am eating.  I had to give it up which is hard because the extra $$ was great!  I just stopped donating Thursday night so I will probably know more in about a week if the swelling is going to subside.  Even while pregnant or at my heaviest weight I have never had a problem with feet swelling, this was mind boggling!

I called in advance to the plasma center and learned that (at six months post-op) I could donate as long as my labs were good and I had a note from my surgeon. After driving there and spending over an hour doing all the paperwork and medical tests, the main nurse denied me because it hadn't been a year since my surgery. She was very sorry that I had been told wrong and I left very upset because of all the wasted time and having to put my son in the daycare. Check very carefully and with multiple people before you go.
