Just wanted to know if anyone out there with BCBS Federal (Basic) could tell me how long it took to get approval and how much $ they had to pay out of pocket for their Sleeve operation?

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Took 7 days and I had to pay the surgeon $150 and $150 to the hospital (that's per day, so it will be up to how many days your surgeon keeps you). Also that doesn't include anesthesia because they send that bill later.

Y had to do 3 consecutive appts. For dr supervised diet which was only really 2 months, is that what your surgeons office said? Good luck!

 I believe it took several weeks to hear anything. I think I remember being told that the insurance had 30 days from the day they received the paperwork to decide. I had to pay $150 for hospital stay, $150 for my surgeon, and $150 for the anesthesiologist. I ended up having complications that required a second surgery and a near month hospital stay so I paid that twice. Still not bad though.
