Food measuring

Can vets please tell me.... Do you find it more effective to measure  your food by scale/weight or by measuring cup (ex.1/4 cup)? I have been doing scale thus far, but am not sure if it is the best way. I did 3 oz tonight and am miserable. ( I know eating too fast also contributed, because if I had of ate slower I would have sensed my fullness and stopped before getting overly full) Ugh! I definitely do not want to make a habit of this feeling. Thanks!

I use the scale.  If the 3oz was too much cut back a little until you find a good amount.  Nothing says you have to eat that much.  I usually start with 2-3 oz of meat then if I still have a little room I'll take another bite or two.

3 oz less than a month out is a lot. Try to keep it around 1-1.5 oz for now. Definitely watch your speed - even if I eat slow I can't tell when I'm full. I only know when I've eaten too much after it's too late. That's why its def important to measure and stick to pre-measured portions. Even a year out I dont get much sensation in my stomach to tell me when I'm geting full.

I measure solids by scale - liquids by cup. Otherwise, I generally just follow what's on the nutrition label (if it calls for oz or cups).

I use the scale for solids and measuring cup for liquids.  Also use measuring spoons if needed.

At your stage I used a measuring cup, once I got the scale I realized the 1/4 cup of chicken was really only about an ounce of food on the scale.  Which explains why I was losing so quickly.

I still only eat 2 oz meat now and 3-4 bites of veggies at a time.  Try eating less, I haven't felt the feeling you have now because I measured out what I could tolerate.  It helped because I'm a fast eater as well!

Good luck
