Food Ideas.....five days post op

I had surgery five days ago, on June 5. After reading thru a lot of info, i've noticed that my doctor's post op nutrition guide is a little different than others. On my third day home, i was able to start creamy soups and milk products such as yogurt, cheese, etc. My body is tolerating it well, but i've only ventured to cream of chicken soup with a sprinkle of grated cheese. Besides mental hunger, i dont feel hungry or full yet. :-/ I'm sticking to the 3-4 oz of food during meals, and not drinking. Its my second day eating creamy soups and i guess my question is does anyone have any good ideas to change things up a little? My day consists of: protein drink for breakfast, cream of chicken for lunch and dinner, sugar free popsicle, another protein drink at some point. Its not exactly that, butsomething like that. I need some suggestions on how to change it up a little....bc doing that fortwo weeks is gonna get real old real fast. Im also not that imaginative in the kitchen. Is there any bariatric surgery cookbook available or a good website with meal planning ideas? Anything at all will help! I truly want tto succeed at this!
Tons of recipes here for all phases post op. Plus recipes for dressing up protein shakes.

It's very limited at what you can have early on but that's because you are limited to what you can have early on.

Hope this helps.

I've found that Kroger has a huge variety of different cream soups. Of course I'll be straining or blending them but just for the difference in taste you can try some others besides chicken. I was on full liquids last week so I tried several types and like the nacho cheese and the french onion was good too. I add unflavored Unjury protein to my soups (but they have to be

I had my op on the 8th, and this is my first day back in my own house after the surgery.  Yesterday, I drank organic beef broth/organic tomato broth mixed in a little mug for dinner.  Today, I had liquified oatmeal with 2% milk, and a drizzle of mango juice for breakfast.  For dinner I had a peach/banana/ cherry/ flax seed/ yogurt/ protein blender drink.  I ate it with a spoon like ice cream, and it was lovely!  I only got seven or eight spoon fulls down before I got full though.

How are you doing on keeping hydrated?  I'm finding it to be a little challenging.  I can only take the tiniest sips and at the end of the day I've only been managing to drink about 25oz of water.  Of course my "food" is all liquid right now too, but I was wondering how you've been managing to get your liquids?

The first couple of days were hard to get the water in. I think the most I've been able to drink has been about 50oz. Even today, I've only drank about 30oz. Still drinking away tho. The best piece of advice i received was to keep full water bottles by you. Continuously sip all day long. You will have almost all your daily water intake before you know it. :-)
I also had surgery June 5. My diet sounds like yours. I started creamy soups today and also chose cream of chicken. I have 2 protein drinks with jello in between. I LOVE the Adkins Cafe Caramel rrotein drink. It is so good that i look forward to it. I agree that this will get old soon. I also have the eoght Loss Surgery for Dummies book and Before and After by Susan Leach. The book by Leach has many options for each stage. In the book, there is a great recipe for vanilla egg custard and they also recommend unsweetened or low sugar peanut butter. They also listed chicken broth, heat one cup and then whisk 2 tablespoons real potato flakes to create a thin  smoot soup and this was delicious. I am not sure how much of the soup or whatever I should be eating at this point. Do you know?
Yah! Someone exactly where i'm at right now. Its really hard, because I dont feel full yet. I measure out three to four ounces of soup and im content. I just dont know how im gonna continue this for two weeks. Im more satisfied just drinking the protein drinks honestly. I do love that atkins drink, but the small amount of caffeine in it made my heart race. Kinda freaked me out! I will definitely have to look those books up. Thanks!
I was June 5th also!  But I am on clear liquids for 2 weeks!  I can add my protein shakes this Tuesday!  I have to say I am a bit jealous!  Lol

Yah! Another june 5er!! Are you hurting? Im not really hurting much anymore. I crave food like crazy, but not hungry or full. I have heartburn now when i never got it before. My stomach gets all bubbly feeling....but not as much as the first few days.
I am just sore!  Not really pain, but soreness. And yes, my sister cooked up some hot dogs and chips for my 3 year old and it looked like prime rib to me!  Lol. I was lucky and didn't have the gas pains either. Mine seem to come if I drink too fast or with popsicles. My sleeve doesn't care for frozen temps!  Lol
