What foods can I eat

I had my sleeve done almost 2 weeks ago. Is it ok to eat cottage cheese, eggs and fish and cooked vegetable this soon. I was told not to eat these until week 4. Anything else I have had so far like canned tuna, salmon, yogurt, mashed potatoes and oatmeal have gone down fine. I actually think I may be eating too much as I am averaging 900 calories. What do you think?

I think you need to ask yourself why you are ignoring our surgeons plan?  He was smart enough to cut you open and do the procedure but not guide you through healing?

Your stomach is still healing.  There is a reason the first staes of the diet are liquids - give your stomach time to hel and scar up enforce making it do the tough job of digesting again.  The more you pu**** the more likely you are to cause a tear and leak or o interfere with healing.

As for 900 calories, that's awfully high. At 7 mos I dont read 600.  I keep mine low in losing phase to avoid slowing my loss.  At two weeks I was only doing 420-450.

Who told you to stay away from those foods until week 4? If it was your surgeon, then you need to make sure and stick with their plan.

I can't really comment on how your plan looks, because each doctor and nutritionist have their own rules that they want you to follow. I do know that my plan was super conservative, and I wasn't eating at all until I was 3 weeks out, and that was when I started soft foods.

Be very careful about deviating from your instructions. You don't want to do anything that would cause your sleeve damage.

I would follow my surgeon's plan to a T. At two weeks I will be allowed pureed foods only until week 4. I sure would not intentionally do anything that might hurt my sleeve after all I went through!  I will just be elated with my refried beans and cheese and scrambled eggs for two weeks!  Lol

What rhearob said.

I will tell you that personally I was having liquids only (protein shakes/water/jello****il 3 weeks out.

I then moved into things like greek yogurt, cottage cheese, pureed soups.

Then finally at around 6-8 weeks was I able to eat the things you are talking about.....soft fish, scrambled eggs, cooked veggies.

I have not touched anything like oatmeal or mashed potatoes since surgery.

This was my plan.  Your surgeon and nutritionist have designed one for you.  Don't push boundaries this soon.  You might regret it.
All those things were fine on my doc's plan, but each doc devises their plans based upon their own experiences, so it's generally best to stick with their plan, or at least clear any changes with them. This does two things that help both of you -

1. if you have any problems, even though they may have nothing to do with what you are doing, your doc is likely to blame you anyway for being noncompliant, and

2. it helps the doc gage the progress of his patients so he can tweak his program to better fit his patients' progress - it helps him learn, too! Several have posted here that their docs have loosened up their programs after learning that their patients were cheating on it without suffering any trauma from doing so.

On the caloric front - does your doc's plan specify a calorie range that you should be hitting, or is it fairly open? 900 calories is above the cookie cutter plan that gets heavily promoted on these boards, but it's quite workable for those with relatively little to lose and/or are more active than average. I was running in the 900-1000 range within the first week or two and that worked fine for me (I would not have wanted to lose any faster than I did). Just make sure that those calories count with good, high density nutrition (and it sounds like you're on the right track there.)

I couldn't eat any soft foods until 3 weeks out.  I seriously agree with everyone else who suggests you follow your sugeon's plan.  He/She made it for a reason so I'd do what your team says to do instead.
