I need new eyes

I've come to the conclusion that I need new eyes. My eyes are still bigger than my stomach. In the past I always overate because everything looked so good. Now my eyes much bigger than my stomach. I have to stop and remind myself that I can't eat so much food. Fortunately I'm learning to measure my portions. Here's to learning to eat healthier.

I think many of us go through this! I remember the first time I went out with friends to a chinese restaurant. All the food came and I couldn't believe that I had encouraged people to order more! LOL! Once I saw the food I knew I was going to be done in about 3 bites.

I still struggle with this! It's a good thing I've learned to eat protein first and take small bites, or I would have made myself very sick many times by now. I ordered some wings at Zaxby's a few weeks ago... I thought five would be about right; after all, I can eat four nuggets, so I figured five wings would be about right, right???

Wrong! I was done after two... haha!

I struggle with this too! I just made a salad, small, for dinner with 2 oz. chicken breast on top. A few bites into the salad I was already getting full and had to force myself to eat the chicken. I really wanted to get in the veggies from the salad, but no way. I guess it's a good problem to have, but it is really a challenge!

Took me a solid 6 months to feel I had my portions under control. I was a volume eater so was used to eating very large quantities when triggered. It will come with time and paying the consequences of misjudging a few times but you will get there!

Measuring is your friend. At 14 months out, I still have lying eyes. I still weigh and measure a lot of things. It does make that issue easier.

Highest weight: 335 lbs, BMI 50.9
Pre-op weight: 319 lbs, BMI 48.5

I'm glad to hear there are others out there who have the same issues. It's helpful to have "veterns" say they still have to watch portion sizes. Hope everyone does well with weightloss.
