Four days Post Op and feeling YUCKY!

Had sleeve done on Monday 7/16.  Have been doing pretty well.  Feeling kind of rough this evening though.  I'm thinking it's anxiety!  I haven't taken my Lexapro (which I take for anxiety) since Sunday evening.  Dread meal time...especially meal number 3 today!  Getting it all in along with water throughout the day!  I know it will have to get better!  I never would have guessed there would be a day when I actually dreaded "eating" so much that I could cry!  UGH!!!
That feeling will pass quickly. You will start to look forward to something to eat only to find that you can eat just two or three bites and you're full. It has been the oddest thing to get used to. I keep thinking I can eat a little larger portion than 1/4 cup, but I can't. Eat very slowly to enjoy each bite. I am nearly 7 weeks out. Good luck!

Thank you!  Today has been better!
If you stopped your Lexapro suddenly and haven't had it in almost a week, I'm betting that is messing with your head. Lexapro is a med that builds up in your system and your system is not happy without it suddenly gone. Stopping it suddenly is not a good idea. Talk to your dr that prescribed it. He/she should be able to work with you to get back on your medication. If you can't swallow a pill, get a crushable pill that you can put into something you each or drink. If you were on an extended release before surgery, you can be on an XR after surgery again once you can swallow the pil (ask your surgeon about that timing****il then you might have to take smaller doses a few times a day. Now is not the time to get off of medications that affect your state of mind. Get back onto your medications (talk with your drs about it) and I'm pretty sure you will feel better in a couple of days. Then if you want to try going off of it later, do it slowly by stepping down little by little putting a week or two between drops. I'm sorry you are having a hard time.

Thanks!  You are so right!  I used to be a psych nurse, but I guess I was a little "slow" in recognizing my own issues.  I was allowed to start taking it again Yesterday evening.  I cut it in half and will only take 10mg for a few days before I go back up to 20mg in order to minimize any GI upset.  I kept feeling worse after my post last night, so my mom convinced me that I was having a lot of anxiety and to take 1/2 a Xanax.  That made a big difference!  I've done well today, but as it got closer to time for meal #3, I'm getting that feeling again.  I'm just going to do the best I can to get some protein in and then do some deep breathing exercises.
My doc told me no way to stop taking my Paxil.  Said at lest for the first year.  Did they stop you because it would hurt the sleeve?

I know when I stopped I had to ease off.

Good Luck and take care of yourself.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won!  Sleeved 1/22/13!

I agree with Debbie! Big Hugs to you sweetie!!!

With God ALL things are possible!

 Thank you bunches!!!
I couldn't get my 100mg sertroline down - it got stuck really badly once and I feared taking it again. I was without for about 5 days and that was rough.

Now I a) take it earlier and b) do one half at a time about 20 minutes apart. So far so good.
