HOW LONG WERE EACH PHASE OF YOUR POST OP...

I was just wondering because the information i have been reading seems like the liquid phase was about 2-3 weeks then the pureed food for about the same time frame! I was told by my surgeons office that I would be on liquids for 5 days post op then i could move to the pureed foods at 6 days post op and i would do that for about 5 days as well .... I know I am suppossed to listen to them but that just seems like a very very fast transition plus I would like to lose as much weight as I can while in each stage ! so please tell me how long each phase was for you !!??

10 days clear liquids; 10 days full liquids, 10 days "soft" foods/purees.  Then on to solids - slowly, carefully, adding only one new food per day.

do you think it would be stupid of me to just extend each phase without the approval of the surgeon ?

Logically, to me, it never hurts to be slightly more conservative - but your surgeon may have a specific reason for moving you through the transitions at that speed.  I could not have moved much faster, personally.

I'm 8 days post op and already eating soft foods. I had one week of full liquids then moved on to soft food after my first followup. My surgeon doesn't require a pureed stage for his sleeve patients, only for bypass. So your plan sounds similar to mine. Don't worry about not losing weight- even though I'm allowed to eat food now, I can still only take about 4 bites st a time! In my opinion, getting a little something food-wise works wonders for my energy level!

What type of things were you having in the liquid phase ?! how was your energy ?!

I was on 3 weeks of liquids which meant anything that could go through a strainer. Then I was on soft foods for three weeks, and cleared after that for anything with caution!

It all depends on the surgeon & their plan....... my surgeon has me on each stage for only one week at a time. I just started my pureed stage today  Good luck with your weight loss!!!!
