Early out, I used water, and I used the Nectar Syntrax fruity flavors. I had a second serving of Unjury Chicken Soup, also made with water. After a while, I added Nectar Chocolate Truffle to my coffee in the morning, with almond milk. This is what I still do today. I use about a third of a cup of almond milk to mix up the powder, then add the coffee. I use a bigger mug than average for this. Fat free milk has too many carbs for me, even today. I am just as satsified with almond milk. Good luck!
With my protein shakes in pre-op and post-op I used skim milk, I would put in a blender a: 1 cup skim and 1 scoop Pure Protein Frosty Chocolate Whey Protein or 1 scoop of Pure Protein Vanilla Cream Whey Protein and mix the skim milk and protein powder in the blender for 30 seconds and serve it. The two does mixes well together. I use the skim milk because I like the way it tastes, no fat, low in cals. and it's good for you. Some times I would use 1% milk for my protein shakes.
I wish you luck with your different combinations.
