I use to have a weigh****chers scale but when it quit working I went to Walmart and spent $24.  The scales that I like are digital and I can put a plate on them and it will zero out.  It makes it easier to measure the actual food.

Can I ask what you are using the scale for?  If it is for measuring your food so that you don't over-eat, how is a scale going to help you?  I guess what I don't understand is that your stomach now holds a certain volume.  But weighing something is not going to help you with that.  If your stomach holds 3 ounces, weighing out 3 ounces of something can be a vastly different amount than 3 ounces of that same thing by volume.

I've seen that before on here. So all I need is a dry goods measuring cup? That would be better still. Won't cost me anything.

Yep!  What she said.  Our nut said she doesn't care if we every get a scale.  Our stomach hold by volume and we just need dry goods measuring cup!  I used my 1/4 to eat out of as I didn't want to lose any by than putting on a plate.  Some days I get fancy and put it on a dessert plate.

Some things the nutrition was by weight so, I would zero out the measuring cup and then fill it.  But if I didn't have one already I wouldn't have bought one.

I was considering a scale to be able to identify how much meat I was eating to log it into my fitness pal.  Is there an easy explanation on doing this?  Right now I get pre-packaged tilapia and chicken so I'm assuming those are accurate, but I wanted to measure to make sure.

I just bought one. I was guessing on my food amounts & guessing high. It's helpful to see what I'm eating.

You will get two different options on this, some will say scale and some will say measuring cup. You will never get a defined answer.  My NUT says it makes absolutely no difference in what method you use. Oh wait, that is three options.
